Just to let you know, I will not buy physical media games for PC or via any digital distribution other than Steam or Good Old Games. I have a catalogue of well over 200 titles."We've been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 3, but for the time being the games are not available via Steam in the UK," a Ubisoft spokesperson told the site.
The spokesperson did not give a reason or an estimated time until the issue would be fixed.
Ubisoft instructed those in the UK wishing to purchase the games to do so via its Uplay store or from physical retailers in the region.
The issue only affects gamers in the UK, as both games will still be available on Steam in other regions.
I no longer buy EA games due to their shenanigans with Steam.
I had more respect for Ubisoft but you've really disappointed me, I had looked forward to playing Far Cry 3, such a shame. Still, no shortage of games to spend my cash on.
Really? It seems that this is a deterioration in the release method. Can't quite remember, but AC-Revelations had a smooth UK Steam release, that wasn't that long ago.Originally Posted by iNvidious02 Go to original post
Don't mind waiting; my line in the sand is no physical media, no new digitial distribution accounts (the Uplay loading to play a game doesn't bother me much, having to go somewhere other than my Steam client to (re) download a game does).Until they can, any Ubi releases wont be on the UK steam store - you'll have to wait
The gifting thing works cross-region?Or you could ask a friend from the US to gift it you as its available on other steam stores
