I launch it from steam and it launches the uplay launcher and I can launch the game from there.
I can play the game just fine in offline mode but its never been able to connect to the server which is really frustrating cause I would actually like to give mp a go and get access to my dlc.
I don't really want to re-download 8gb but if its not fixed in the next few days I will I guess.
I have pretty much same problem but not quite: I can play single but multi is unplayable because of constant connection break to "Far Cry 3 Service"( i can connect for a short time, in single player when it comes to save game, game reconnects to "Far Cry 3 Service"). Hope that this problem will be solved soon so i can finally play multiplayer.
I can play offline but can't use any online features. Same problem as in AC3 where i can't redeem my deluxe edition codes...waste of money. Support has sent me tons of automated questions and tipps like port forwarding, disable your firewall and so on (what i already had done). Now that I have prooven that the problem is not at my end there is only dead silence....
But hey they already have our money. Why should they care if we can play or not -.-
I just got this game installed and ever since it has been complaining bot being able to connect to the servers. Each time it slows down my playing. Not to count that uplay itself decided to update itself when I just wanted to play the game. This is so irritating ! After these "server connection required" things came a huge part of playing fun did go too. Now wanting to play means only higher blood pressure because of all this hell Ubisoft is making us go thru. And, the general low quality of software they produce: not even good error messages available about where the problem is with that server connection - are the servers really down or is there something in between. Their software COULD tell that by checking first server information from http-site where they would have info available and only then use possibly some custom port and protocol to try the actual connection. UBISOFT!!! Listen to YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!! From this date I have decided NOT TO BUY EA or UBISOFT games. I rather turn to piracy as they are not pirates - they are freedom fighters.
