If thats the case why does my invoice say the following..

Thank you for purchasing Far Cry 3 - The Lost Expeditions. To access your new game, you will need to launch Uplay PC.
Your game will be visible in the “GAMES” section.
Please note that there could be a delay for your game to appear in this section.

and yet it has been 8 hours and is still not showing up in my Uplay games list

Exactly the same problem for me, pretty annoyed with this, first time I have ever used Uplay, it seems terrible ! Not really sure what to do, I got the exact same message as you and no email confirmations or anything, luckily I saved the key to a notepad but this really isn't on. Tempted to even download the game from elsewhere and see if the code works. Might try tomorrow if they still haven't sent it to me.

EDIT : I finally got email and it's showing up to download in Uplay !!!!! Only took 4 hours, oh well better late than never i guess. Tempted to buy Hawx 2 but not sure after this....

EDIT AGAIN : Games downloading at 200kbps a second, I have 100meg line, Terrible Service never again..........

I go the game with an AMD promo and had alot of trouble getting it to install and show up in uplay. I finally found the solution, after much experimentation and scrounging of forums. I eventually DID receive an email with a dl link and key, so if you did not get those, you can ignore the following. If you did, and are still having trouble getting it to open in uplay, read on.

First, click on the dl link in the email. After everything downloads (took quite a while for me), opening the first of around 13 zipped files seems to unpack and install the game. Upon opening uplay however, nothing shows up. For me, the installer actually put the game and its associated files (god knows why) into *user/appdata/local/temp under a filecalled FarCry3. Go to this directory, open the FarCry3 folder, open the bin folder, and double click the FarCry3 application. Uplay should open and there should be an option to "go to game" somewhere in the window. Click this link and enter the serial from your email, provided you got one in the first place.

Good luck, hope this helps someone, and Ubisoft, please fix or abandon uplay - you're only encouraging people to pirate your games by punishing those who obtained it legitimately.

Got the game with the Never Settle promo with my vidya card. I got my order confirmation but there's no download link. It's now 10:40 PST on Dec 4 and still no serial key/dl link email. Is the west coast in the last wave of emails or something? I thought it was supposed to be released today, google searches return that it was released for PC in the US on Nov 29. What's going on here? If you're going to run a gaming company and do your own digital distribution, make sure you have the assets to actually distribute the game when the players want it. Why couldn't they just have a redeem code through steam, like Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs (hitman I download on release day without a hitch). Nice work Ubicrap, I'll make sure in the future that if I ever think of purchasing directly from you I will immediately quash the idea.

I also had a lot of issues getting the game. It was from the AMD promo as well. The ONLY REASON I WOULD EVER CONSIDER USING UPLAY OR BUYING DIRECTLY FROM UBISOFT!

First, why is there not a way to just redeem a key, voucher, code, etc in the Uplay client itself?

Instead the AMD promo page spits out a coupon code to buy Far Cry 3 from the Ubishop for $0.00

Okay, that is already a bit weird and feels like something I would do in 2006 not 2012.

I buy it on my Ubishop account, which is my Uplay account? Which is also my forum account? Why not unify everything so I know that if I buy it on this account I will be able to download it on blank account.

Well my receipt says nothing, no key, no anything, just that I bought Far Cry 3. I get an order confirm and it says that if its a preorder I'll get an email on release of how to redeem.

Why doesn't the preorder just show up in the Uplay client so I know I have it and can start downloading on release day like steam allows. Instead I need to wait for this email, download a download manager, wait for the game to download, let another piece of software extract the .rar files (really? Feels weird for a big company to be using rar archives, especially one who hates piracy the way Ubisoft does). Then install the game finally.

I am still installing, but I am hoping that once I launch the game and enter my key I will be able to redownload the game in the future as the Uplay info page seems to indicate. I expect similar functionality to Steam or Origin at least. This is just a hassle that a customer should not have to deal with. Not only is it free, but much easier to pirate your games Ubisoft. Its like you just bend over and ask for it.
