Guys,

Finally resolved the install problem with IL2FB following removal ready for AEP. Was a key in the registry. Did a VERY thorough search and removed all traces. IL2FB installed no problem.

But.....

After inserting the AEP disk and running install, it goes through the first 'Welcome to Windows Installer...etc.' thn the following appears with a red cross:

Severe: IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles NOT FOUND

What gives?? - This was delivered in the UK by Gameplay.com (finally).

Why can't it locate the install?

Please help guys, this is really P'ing me off now...!

But is it the same resolution for the UK version of the game?

I don't fancy changing the registry again if that fix only relates to the US version.

They are the same version

Only difference is packaging:

UK/Europe is in DVD style box.

US is in CD case and cardboard outer.

I have both on my desk at home, so follow the procedure from Murdock and get flying!

All I can say is "Fan-bloody-tastic!!!!"

It's installing as we speak.

I added the en_us to a registry string.

I called the Ubisoft tech support line and this is what they told me to do: First uninstall IL-2 FB and then reinstall it via AUTORUN, and then a dialog box appears to ask you what language to select, click ENGLISH: this is important-this is how AEP finds IL-2 FB! Then install AEP and it should install with no problem. Good luck and enjoy! Skalljrunn.
