    Aim Acceleration and Camera Control

I am very interested in this game after looking at the previews and videos. I'd like to pre order right now, but, when I played Far Cry 2, I never got more than 20 min into it because the controls felt so bad it was just a chore to play. Does anyone know if there is going to be an option to disable the aim acceleration or if the camera movement in general will be improved with Far Cry 3 over the last entry? I have played thousands of hours worth of other first person shoots, and Far Cry 2 aiming and movement was just too bad for me to keep playing. I play on PS3, does anyone have any links regarding this discussion for Far Cry 3? I have looked all over the internet and not been able to find anything conclusive.

    Thanks everyone.

While it didn't bother me as much as it did you, I agree it was one of the game's biggest drawbacks & something I hope they worked on. I still played the crap out of FC2 though, but I had turned off aim assist (it would move your reticule WAAAAY to much, especially noticeable when sniping), maxed out the sensitivity & I think you could disable aim acceleration, if so I did that as well. All that & the responsiveness/ intuitiveness still wasn't fully where it felt comfortable to me, but it wasn't so bad I couldn't over-look it in the grand scheme of things. I do hope it's another thing they worked on from the list of improvements based on fan feedback though, because obviously I wasn't he only one who wasn't quite feeling it. I hate to say it, because I know most people are over CoD, but one thing CoD does have is a good feeling as far as responsiveness of controls & intuitive feeling sensitivity. That may be mostly due to the 60 frames per second, but it just feels 'right'. If FC3 could get closer to CoD in that regard, it'd be the only thing I'd want them to do similarly to CoD. hahaha

COD controls are the some of the most responsive out there on consoles, i agree that tight control mechanics are a must..

Cod controls are so good because it is 60FPS and you minimize the input delay by going 60fps! Predator did so, FC2 didnt and it controlled horrible on consoles!
This is my main concern, the controls. That is why i need a demo so i can feel how it controls.

I probably go play it at the store/buddy and make up my mind. It is the only thing that keeps me from preordering.

Oh god i wish more fps's go 60fps next gen or i just buy a new pc

so you rather have crappy controls then? i rather have somewhat downgraded graphics and much better gameplay/controls. So does 13 million other.

But some devs/publishers keep pushing graphics instead of gameplay.

COD looks fine on console and runs a heavenly 60fps, i would also rather have more games with this framerate and slightly reduced graphics..

30fps is fine as long as you dont have to pull the trigger and wait half a second before the gun fires like in FC2..

Yes, controller lag is never good in a shooter.
I am also concerned with Online Lag and stability especially since there was no BETA.
That can kill any good game QUICKLY!

I totally agree with this. There are tons of examples of games that run at 30 FPS and control great. All the halo games run at 30 FPS and those are some of the tightest FPS controls around. The issue is just game design over FPS. It can help it feel more smooth, but it doesn't make or break the experience by any means. Thank you for the suggestion as well to turn sensitivity all the way up and then auto aim off. It really helped. I still think I'm just going to hold off playing FC2 and wait for FC3 to get here. It will be here before you know it.
