No lines at the gas pumps for quite some time now. Gas prices have plummeted and was $3.27 per gallon (cash price) on last fill up. Still see some minor residual damage; like some businesses that haven't had roof shingles replaced yet, broken fences that the town or homeowners haven't taken care of. Other than that, it's business as usual now. I still think the shore communities are still recovering.Originally Posted by swamprat69er Go to original post
I just learned the other day that the storm surge reached as far inland (here) as the GSP (Garden State Parkway), some sections of which were completely impassable. I have to admit that I was astonished to hear this. Anyone familiar with NJ and who has traveled the parkway knows just how far inland that is.

I have and I do. I used to deliver kitchen cabinets to N.J. Every week a 'peddle load'. Rhode Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Mass. and then pick up air freight in Boston and beat the plane back to Toronto. NOT a fun haul, but I met a lot of nice people.
