I'm 1.5 miles west of I-95 about 5 miles north of Quantico MCB. Flooding not a threat, except from rain getting in basement wndows. Wind will be the real threat. Most trees still have all their leaves, for now! Expecting a lot of downed trees and no power from about 2 pm Monday afternoon.

    It will be interesting!

Looks like this big blower is going to come ashore at Philadelphia, then head WNW toward Harrisburg. From there it is projected to steer north along the western side of Interstate 81 up into the Williamsport, PA area( north central part of the state before crossing into New York.
I live within spitting distance of the intersection of interstates 80 & 81, so it appears we're going to see some 58 MPH winds and alot of rain. I can only hope it doesn't kill our power like Irene did for a couple of days. I spent all day battening down anything loose around the house and made a trip to the grocery where the bread aisle was already wiped out due to it being Sunday with no bread deliveries. I think we'll be ok though. The wife got the brilliant idea to get a generator today. I just chuckled and said "good luck with that" Maybe could have gotten one this time last week. But not now.
Going to fill the bath tub tonight for water to flush the toilet with if power is knocked out.

Everyone in the path of this thing, please stay safe and we'[ll see you on the other side.

These are the latest updates to the storm's projected path, compliments of my Earth Alerts program. If these paths hold true, we may not have it as bad as I feared since the most damaging rains are said to be south and west of the storm center.

Supposedly us here in Southern Ontario are gonna get it the worst for Canada. Great, possible flooding and power outages. Never had this here before. Stay safe folks, I'll bring the coffee to the next patrol.

Well, it's getting pretty dicey around here about now (4:41pm). According to the maps on my Earth Alerts program, it looks like the eye is hitting somewhere near or below the Atlanic City area right now. There's a light but steady, wind driven rain outside my house. There are significant gusts that have already felled some smaller tree limbs which are visible up and down my block. Though the rain is light, it's steady and because of the wind, it actually stings a bit when it hits my skin. I had Wolfgang outside for a few minutes for a toilet call and he's unphased by it all. He grabbed his favorite football and brought it to me for some play time.

It's my understanding that the winds are still going to increase. I'm worried about my neighbor's tree in the yard behind my home. Half of it came down during last October's snow storm and the other half is now waving precariously over my 6' vinyl fence. If that falls into my yard and crushes my fence, it'll be no small expense and with my luck, just within the deductible range of my homeowner's insurance. I'm surprised they didn't have the whole tree removed last year when it split in two, just like a turkey's wishbone. Every time it wavers in a wind gust, I get a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

My house lights have been flickering occasionally and I hope we don't lose power, but I have a couple of lanterns and flashlights ready if they do. I've got 4 cases of bottled water and another gallon just in case. I always have plenty of food in the house (thank the Lord) so shopping wasn't an issue. Nevertheless, I stopped, or rather tried to stop at a local A&P food store for some extra dog food, but the parking lot was so full, I couldn't find a space. Looks like the survivalists were out in force this time. I simply left and purchased my dog food at a local convenience store, albeit at an extravagantly higher price. Oh well, guess I'll sign off for now. I'll report back in if anything significant happens. I just wanted anyone who might be concerned to know what is heading their way.

    Postscript:
It looks like the higher winds and rains are to the south and west of this storm so for those in these areas of the storm, be ready and God bless you.

    Wern,
If your neighbors' tree falls on your stuff, isn't his insurance the one to pay the costs of damages? Seeing as how it's negligence for not removing the damaged tree in the first place.
As for the hurricane, I'm thinking it might not be as bad as predicted as it seems to have been absorbed by the nor'easter around five this evening. It should degrade the energy in it further as it starts smacking the ridges of the Appalachians.
We've only seen moderate rainfall so far today and very little in the way of wind. It's not over yet though.
I'm glad I don't live in West Virginia. Two feet of snow in those mountains.

    @Wolferz:
True about the homeowner's insurance responsibility, but still, I'd have to hire an attorney, take him to court and prove he was negligent, albeit only via a preponderance of the evidence. The attorney's fees alone (which I'd have to include in the lawsuit) would more than pay to repair the fence, so it'd certainly be something to weigh in the balance. Thankfully, I don't expect to live here much longer so I wouldn't care how I got along with that neighbor, after the fact. Might be moving up by you soon.

    As for the weather:
The rain has stopped (for the moment?) but the wind gusts are quite severe now. Lost power just a few minutes ago but it came back on again within a few seconds. While typing this, the lights dimmed for a split-second as if another power loss almost occurred. Amazing wind gusts and I'm not anywhere near the storm center.

It's starting to become worse in my area. Wind has dramatically picked up and rain has increased as well. Our lights have dimmed only once though. I keep a flashlight beside my bed just in case we do lose power.
