the fricking field of view. It doesn't matter how great the game is which I am sure it is, I won't be buying it if I can't have a custom Fov <110, its that crucial for me. I'm playing Far Cry 2, Bf3 and any other games that allow me to at an fov of 120. And so far there hasn't been any info about PC specific features.
That's my biggest concern - I just can't see myself purchasing a new gaming rig for this game alone, I have been on consoles for so long now.
I have the Insane edition ordered on PS3 and also have a 360 which I will get the game on.
If the difference is massive between PC / Console (and I think it will be) then I just hope they re-release this again on the Next Gen Systems so that I can see it as it should be seen, it would be great if an old map file from say PS3 / 360 could work on a newer system as it would be the xy-coordinates of items and terrain height, if that could be transferred over and peoples older maps from this release worked on a new system re-release then I would take the plunge for sure and buy it again in a couple of years.
The more I think about it, the more it looks like I'm going to have to buy two copies. The 360 version for the IGE and MP and the PC version for SP (gotta have those pretty graphics, plus I love taking screenshots). I'm not a huge Ubisoft fan and I really don't like the way the PR department has handled this game, but I think the actual development team deserves my $120.
It might have some benefits at the same time though, I am wondering if the 360 will be able to get the whole game onto one disc, where PS3 will guarantee that using Blu-Ray although the PS3 tends to force us to install game to HD anyway.Originally Posted by mistados Go to original post
And there was the mention a few months ago of the PS3 getting some exclusive content which could be time restricted or could be PS3 only, but graphics wise could it really be that different from 360 - Most games seem to look similar over both platforms I think one exception was what I heard to be a terrible version of Half Life Orange Box - but supposedly they got to grips with the PS3 system and Valve released Portal after saying they would not work with that system again.
There is also rumoured to be a version of L4D in the pipeline.
I do not in any way want to start a console or platform flame war here so please think before you post - I am simply saying that I would not expect it to be that different, and the guy from Platform32 does not show any evidence of this so again we are left thinking and speculating until we see footage or images for ourselves.
usmovers_02 I think quite a few might feel similar but after all the videos yesterday I am leaning in the other direction - people have been complaining a lot but all we are seeing is pre alpha footage and old builds of the game, the Dr Earnhardt video shows the lengths they are going to in getting the right look and voice for what they want, they could have so easily just left that and moved onto other things - Now we hear that the level editor has some form of A.I. which we can use, and I am sure the MP will now look so much different from what we saw last April at Pax - It could be that the finished build will blow us away - I am thinking we have been conned because we are discussing old footage and all along they are behind the scenes improving things - Heres hoping this is everything we have wanted.
Is there even a need to have a recommended map - if it is recommended then surely it should be Ranked.Originally Posted by AW LOST SOLDIER Go to original post
The questions are How long does the Ranked User Made Map stay on the list and how is it selected.
Any map selected should be because of game play reasons - maps that are of artistic value - crazy maps and all the other stuff might have their own areas / categories. I think that Ubi Massive Sweden will do a far better job than how it worked in FC2 because that was a done very badly - unfortunately though a lot of people were more obsessed with times downloaded and times played figures for their maps that they rarely played other peoples.
I am hoping that you get one vote period and that would stop anyone hosting their map and voting for it time and time again, But they have a new system so it will be good when we hear how it works - people can select maps as their favourites.
You won't even try a game because you can't tweak one feature to your preferred setting?Originally Posted by diwas13 Go to original post
