That looks like a nice card alright... from reviews and such, sounds like gigabyte makes really good stuff. I'm opting for the old blower style fan that exhaust out the back of the box instead of shedding heat inside the chassis and relying on chassis fans to exhaust. I only have one exhaust fan. Its a good 2000rpm fan (noiseblocker multiframe), but it's pushing thru a radiator, so I'm a wary of shedding the gpu heat inside. I know the new cards genuinely run cooler overall, not just due to improved heat sinks and cooling systems, so maybe that concern is misplaced... but nonetheless i still have that concern. The reasons i'm eyeing that particular EVGA board... binned GPU, overclocked with a better cooler, but still a blower out the back sort of arrangement... plus my current 470 is an EVGA and it's been completely trouble free.
i just wana say if minimal for me it's 25-30 fps per sec + - that's absolute miinimum on fps for me .... and now i play on medium 1024x ~ shadows low and i have + - 26-30 fps me pc have's 9 years old only graphic card was changed and i was optymalize me pc using gamebuster alsoo i was lost 2 hour's on setings far cry 3 to get optimal seeting with cpu frames on graphiccard's used and frameskiping testing allot to get all from me pcnow me pc :

i go upload some screens now with fps meaby it help to optymalise engine in next updates runed on win xp sp3 > see ya soon :]
kk meaby i was liite in dreeam :P when i move i lost to 22 fps per sec but it's almost no diffrent from all low details to medium or medium + details it's 1 fps meaby lower it's me problem in some game's like max payne 3 all detail on maximum all on minimum it's the same fps per sec or meaby 0.5 lower ... the same on far cry 3 only when i run all on hight i lost 3 fps or 4 ;p ofc i play on "backup copy off me original far cry 3 " :c ehm .. now i try edit config fille to reduce distance view from minimum 55.~ to meaby lower if it's possible (i know if it's illegal to modificate game code but it's all for work to optymalize requiment's soo meaby ubi agre with me :P . hope i got some help to reduce that option (distance of view ) lower than minimum cuz that it's good to get more fps :P here pic's of

can you give both video and graphics settings ? thanks![]()
What sort of fps should I be getting with my setup? I have updated to all the latest drivers for graphics card and bios but still have a problem with overheating. I recently cleaned out all the dust etc and it improved slightly but not much. My next step is to buy a new case with improved airflow and more fans but I thought I would try and get some advice here first.
Here are my specs:
Dell Studio XPS8100
Windows 7 x64
Intel core i5 750 @2.67ghz, 2668mhz, 4 core
6gb RAM
ATi Radeon HD 5700 1024mb, core clock 850mhz, memory clock 1200mhz.
I did think about overclocking to improve performance a while ago, but that is when I realised it over heats without overclocking.
Idle temp is around 55-60, running most intensive games gets up to 90-100 degrees celcius.
I can run games like witcher 2 at a manageable 30-40fps but Farcry3 on all low settings with DX11 gives me 15-28.
When I first start the game I was getting around 40-50fps on Medium but within 60 seconds it would drop to around 20 fps, so I am pretty sure it is a heat problem.
I have toggled all the settings on/off and things like ssao etc make little difference. I actually found dx11 better than dx9.
So my question is what fps should I be getting and what would you suggest I do about the heating problem?
Thanks in advance.
Just installed nvidia's latest driver, 314.22. Seems to have made a really nice difference for my system with an overclocked 670. Was just playing coop with a mostly solid 60 fps. Overall quality "ultra" (which puts a bunch of detailed settings at less than ulta) and msaa of 2. I didn't get that good framerate before or as consistent a framerate. I had been getting mid 50s at the high end, but sometimes dropping down into the 40s and sometimes even cratering down into the 30s. Staying way up near 60 for the most part is a welcome change!

Sounds like BS to me.. "other tricks".. What other tricks?
It is simple. Less GFX detail, more speed.. You cannot change that. So all you are doing is lowering gfx detail? That is not a "trick", you can do that in the control panel of the gfx card drivers or in the game. You do not need some sketchy third party program doing god knows what in the background to do it for you.
Not cool. I had to dig into the site to figure out what the deal was.=== WHAT IS "DEMO MODE" ===
In demo mode HiAlgoBoost will be active for 15 minutes, then it will be switched off.
After the 15 minutes - pressing F10 will re-activate HiAlgoBoost for only 1 minute each time.
To have another 15 minutes of playing with HiAlgoBoost, you need to restart the game.
So does Ubisoft know you are advertising on their game forum for free? Isn't that against the rules?

Hello I think you can correct this on adding that the bi GPU video card ATI Radeon HD 5970 EAX is not supported,
it will appcrash.exe on directx 11 at each end of multiplayers games and 1 of 3 times on directx 9 select,
and have serious low fps on titles,
0 to 9 fps after each multiplayers party not crash.
On top of that you have to serious tweak the game to play with a good fps.
I consider Ubi to be one of the pioneers in custom game-launcher overlay social thingee that wants you to always be on-line or damn close to it - or whatever you call that "feture".Originally Posted by NobleShavi Go to original post
They have gotten better. But it is just stupid to demand Internet connectivity for an SP game unless you can guarantee 99.999% registration server uptime. Even then, I'm not so sure it is a good thing. Ubi has improved, otherwise I would have deleted the old stuff and stopped installing anything new, like I did with another E-noying Aaa-software maker.
I didn't get this game for on-line or coop, though. As far as I know, FC3 is SP first with mp added on. There are plenty of games which are the opposite if that's what I was after. As an SP game, you have to register with Ubi, but then you can turn off the overlay and the custom launcher app is a lesser annoyance. I really wish Ubi would make that way more transparent. I told someone at work about the game, and they bought it. That's my idea of social and sharing - I really just want to launch the game and play, and not have that extra on-line crap getting in the way.
Back when I had a crappy computer, I spent a lot of time tweaking and adding mods to Oblivion in an unsuccessful attempt to climb out of frame rates in the low teens. I would have to dig to find links, but there were two apps/mods/add-ons that helped improve performance by dynamically altering some of the rendering settings. I think one was named Streamline. These also worked in other games with a similar engine. I think these hooked into the game via scripting and were not a background process.Originally Posted by BWX232 Go to original post
These were (are) some of the wonderful add-ons that are out there for free, thanks to fellow geeks and hobbiests.
So, I'm not suspicious of a program or add-on that claims to increase FPS by dynamically dropping video quality settings. This is an obvious solution that has been done before. For all I know, you can still find a free add-on to do this in some of the more modern games like Skyrim.
I think spending money on a graphics card that can increase frame rates is a better investment, though. And if that is too much $ for some, check the nexus and stuff first to see if there is a free solution before spending money to dynamically lower settings, or give in an just play with the lower settings in the first place - save the cash towards a better card.
