    Pine Trees

The gameplay and screenshots we've seen is filled with them, but how do we climb them? They have no visible branches. Will we be grounded?

Ubisoft have said everything in the forest is climbable so there may be some way around it, I don't know how though.

Maybe Connor will put his tomahawk (or another weapon) in and pull himself up (sort of like with the hookblade) or maybe use it to step on so he can get in (don't know how he'd retrieve it then though)?

I was hoping the rope dart could be used for navigation e.g. he shoots it up so it sticks into a branch or he whips ir around a branch and then climbs up it. But Alex Hutchinson said in an interview that it is only for combat.
Aveline uses her whip for combat and navigation, I suppose they wanted to have a few gameplay differences between them.

They said that using the rope dart for navigation felt too fantastical for the level of realism they wanted to have. They said that about the original ropedart too which was a hidden blade accesory with a chain we could shoot (and supposedly this one was the one they originally thought about using it for navigation, like a grappling hook). Maybe they also didn't go with it because they felt that otherwise they'd be copying Batman's grappling hook system.

I don't think the Liberation team is that closely intertwined with the AC3 team. They probably use the same assets and communicate on ideas and things that concern both games but they won't really try to fit everything they've got in both games or try to keep them completely different on purpose. So if they really wanted to use the rope dart for navigation they wouldn't be bothered by that Aveline already has something like that with her whip, they'd just go for it.

Well in Inside 4, or IGNs one can't remember, he just hugged the trees as if they were polls, Prince of Persia style.

I always thought that we'd be able to climb up using the little spokes that seem to be pointing out of the trunks of some trees.
It's kind of hard to see, but if you look to Connor's left you can see what I mean

Maybe that has to do with the hugging animation.
