Don't forget above I mentioned that I had 4096 X 768 working no problem but it was just a front view and the center was between 2 screens. It really seems that whatever desktop you can set up, Il-2 will use all of it. If you have 3 renders how hard could a fourth one be? I don't know what language the actual IL-2 program is written in but I would think a good programmer could modify it to add a 4th render, but talk about a mod... And again, if it's not available in widesrceen it's kinda useless.
The biggest deterent I can see is that to get "Use3renders" to work you need "SaveAspect=1". Use3renders is a great view, but since you can ony use 4:3 screens, and the largest 4:3 LCD available is 20" (unless you want to use a CRT but that's crazy talk) so like I said above, that's a pretty small box around your head. Have any of you guys looked at that youtube video I posted. Is it Use3renders in wide or am I nuts?

Hey Guys,Here's a shot of six screens. One is zoomed out with Sans FOV but with TrackIR I have found it better to use the resident views in the game. The guages are very usable at resident FOV. Like I said before, I still have to mount them on the wall which will be a much better layout than what you see here, but yiou get the idea. And that tool bar on the upper left screen, I've never seen that before. I swear it's never been there until now. I was messing with the mouse and hit F10 and then Shift F10. Could that have made that visable? Oh well, I'll work on that next sortie. Later, F.[D:\Misc\Pictures\Screenies\P9270063] P.S. Didn't realize this posted. Tried to quit out but it posted anyway. Sorry, still figuring out how to post pics. Soon.
OK, Here we go. Or Not. I'll keep trying. Yay!! Got it!

Over 600 views and no comments?
Would anyone have any idea how I can do this same thing for Wings of Prey? I 've tried everything and can only get three. Sorry if that question is innapropriate for this forum. But I'm getting nothing on the WSGF so far.

Why no comments?
My guess it's mix of:
- Jealousy
- How many 109's are hiding behind them bars?
- Lack of interest due to so small a number of pil2ots will ever have that much gaming space around them, and will not have / will not spend that much money on their system...
It is impressive.. however, I would be very annoyed by the splits / bars...

I guess I was being a little needy. And this thread has gone completely off topic; and it's my fault; and it's my thread. Well FWIW, outside of the new gaming rig that took 2 years to save for, the screens weren't all that much. The bottom 3 I've had with a TH2go since 2008. And the extra three were used off of Craigs list for about $50.00 each. Believe me, if I had money, it would be 3- 42" LCD's instead of six with all the bezels. And this pic is a bad angle. The horizontal width is actually the same as the vertical when you're seated. And with TrackIR you see around the bezels about the same as you see around the canopy frame. And the extra hieght does makes it much easier to track bogies above you. This really was a technical thread to start... really.

Yep, quite the set up and as you say the monitors did not cost too much.
Was wondering about the bars due to the multi monitor setup, would a large flat screen TV be better? I know the cost is out of the ballpark as compared to the deals you got on the monitors but if you could, would it be better? I know the bars would be gone, fine, but what about the resolution or more specifically the clarity of the image on screen on a TV. Would monitor clarity still be better? Plus, would you have to sit further away from a TV, not only to see better but not to have it burn the eyes out of your head after a Sunday afternoon of flying?

The bezels shouldn't obscure anything, the picture splits at the viewable screen edge, not the bezel edge. They will mess with the continuity of the picture a little, but human brains are flexible and if you're using it a lot you'll stop noticing the gaps (most of the time) in only a couple of weeks.
A big TV screen wouldn't match the resolution, IIRC they're all 1024 x 768 monitors making an image 3072 x 1536, more 1.5x the resolution of a 1080p TV @ 2:1 aspect ratio. Also, monitors usually have better contrast ratios and response times than concurrent TV's. As these are all old monitors, you may find a new TV that's got similar specs, but there's still the cost trade-off to consider.

I see, so TV will only provide a larger screen but the clarity would be poor as compaired, so small dots of distant aircraft against terrain would even be harder to see than on a smaller monitor and maybe even harder to distinguish aircraft types at nearer distances, is that correct?

Regarding a large TV: Me thinks you'll have be sitting quite far away from the TV not to be annoyed by the 'roughness' that the (compartively) low resolution brings with it. So, you'd be better off sitting close to a smaller one...
Just think how far away people usually sit from those big TV's...
Whether dots are easier to see, or not... not sure... usually, at 1024x768 they tend to be bigger, and easier to see.
