    RSRDC_TMO_V502 and TMO 2-5

After installing and enabling RSRDC I noticed I was no longer getting sightings reports of convoys and task forces etc. I deactivated it to see if this would change back to the original behaviour, but when I clicked on the telephone to request a transfer the game crashed. That was also a little niggle - I'm based at Midway and I just got "Transfer not possible" messages.

I've checked my gameplay settings and "Don't receive contact reports" is unticked.

I re-enabled RSRDC and the game is not crashing but still no contact reports or transfer options. Help!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. To adjust campaign settings you must use the radio to the left in the office while in port. The contacts option in gameplay settings displays or shows visual contacts that are in your sensor range, not general ship movements. If you're talking about getting contact reports that show movement of groups, you won't see as many with RSRD until later war. These settings are done in group properties within the Mission Editor. RSRD is more historical, so contact reports pop up later war. You'll also get flash messages giving you locations instead of seeing the block movement.

I can't say why you crashed. I assume you're using 1.5 version which would be correct? I assume you got the TMO 2.5 loading screen and it works fine? If RSRD loaded correctly, you'll notice the map looks different. There is also a patch for RSRD, did you install that? Regarding transfers, RSRD reworks that to be more historical, so it will be different.

Thanks for your reply MWolfe1963. Okay - it's early in the war (1943) so maybe I'll start getting more reports later. I'm using 1.5 but I don't remember installing any RSRD patches, I'll check it out. Thanks for the info about transfers, I can stop worrying about that!

    Thanks again.

Just remember with RSRD you'll get more flash messages giving you locations than you'll see groups moving across the ocean. It basically works like this, when groups pop up as convoys spotted, it mimmicks sub sightings, where flash messages giving possible convoy locations mimmick more messages from base reading IJN code. RSRD really doesn't have enough contact reports IMO compared to war, but you'll see more of them late 43 and 44.

Make sure you DL the patch for RSRD.

I don't believe you can without a lot of effort like having exactly the same mods and set up etc I think one of the players has to host it. It's primarily a SP game - there is a thread here somewhere about it..
