    Uplay hangs on cloud sync

    Hi,

    I have been having some problems with the uplay launcher and the cloud sync/achievements and would appreciate any assistance or advice to help me to remedy this frustrating situation. First of all none of my achievements are seen on my uplay account, secondly, I have not had any success in using/utilizing the cloud service. Last, but by no means least, I cannot get my games to run unless I play in safe mode. I purchased the AC series via steam and today totally removed steam and all of my gaming library in order to do a fresh install and try to find a solution to these issues. My computer exceeds the min requirements of the game, I have validated all files through steam, made sure my firewall is not blocking ports required and double checked the uplay game launcher. After uninstalling steam, cleaning my system up and reinstalling steam with only AC2 on it, I did get some game information downloading and can see some game saves have appeared in my launcher dir. I assume this is cloud in action however, the cloud sync is hanging at 100% and the game will not launch. It does not crash and still comes up as running in task manager after 5 hours hanging. I can launch it in safe mode and the game saves exist, please help me to resolve all of this rubbish. I just want to be able to hit play and play, have my games synced on cloud and have the achievements I have worked hard for acknowledged in my uplay client window. I just want it to run as it is supposed to run. Pretty excited about AC3, love the series.

    disable cloud syncing. it does not benefit you anyway.

    Disabled cloud sync

    Thanks for the quick reply,

    I tried disabling cloud sync in both steam and within the uplay client. It still hangs but will run in safe mode, the files cloud downloaded to my system are old game saves my sons created and which I deleted awhile ago. As I was once able to run the games from the uplay client simply by pressing play, I am guessing that they are what was saved by cloud prior to my having to use the safe mode option. Is there not a way to get it to function correctly so that I can use the cloud service as intended? It would be nice to play some on a laptop and then be able to resume where I left off on a desktop at home. Either way, disabling cloud did not help with the uplay hanging unless in safe mode or the achievements appearing. Any more idea's?

    did you disable it from here? i never have problems with it anymore since i disabled it almost two months ago.

    Yes I disabled cloud from the settings within the steam client as well as within the settings of the uplay client as pictured. I agree that this may end up being a support case, however, it never hurts to try a forum to get assistance before submitting one eh.

    Ha.

    I had a read through the forums prior to posting, I can see that many ppl do not get what they expect from support. I am inclined to think that the ppl handling support are probably not programmers and that many of the issues ppl face are indeed software related. They are most likely aware of most issues and updates are imminent anyway. Raging at support , or even in the forums, is not only a waste of time and energy, it is also juvenile and says more about the rager than the state of the product they have purchased. If ppl can't be constructive with their criticisms they should just go cry to mummy, she cares.

    Hi guys,
    I write because I also have a similar problem: in particular everytime I log out from any game I receive the error message "Impossible sync with cloud" ....
    I know that I still have the possibility to disable the cloud sync and just save the files in local directories .... , but it's not a solution.
    I want to save files on cloud, also because I don't always play on the same pc.

    Can you help me in this issue!? PLEASEEEE


    PS. By the way ..... I am not happy with the ubisoft support; they have never contacted me back for this and another issue, don't you think so?
