Hi, it has autosave, so ensure you see the diamond before closing the game.

Not sure if that's a joke, or maybe you didn't read any of the posts in this thread, or other similar threads... Yes, we know the diamond means it's saving the game. The game does that all the time, for example when you simply visit a merchant. People are missing HOURS of gameplay. The Uplay savegame cloud is broken. Ok?

The very same has happend to me as well. Today i entered Toscania second time after Leonardo upgraded weapon to be poisonous and Uncle trained me to disarm skill and dodge (i was playing like an hour today). Closed the session because of lunch and when i start playing i appeared in Florencie at the very beginning. I tried to restart the game , restart computer , restart U play ... Nothing has been working so far. I do not have a reason to play it from the ground again.

Im in the same boat, and it won't save anything else. Ever. I can't even go further into the game without not turning the game off, which I refuse to do. It's rather upsetting. I'm actually where dupik is at in the story line, and running into the issue where I can't go further than the last assassination contract in florence. Aka hes dead, but every time I start guessssss where I'm at? Where I killed him, and Im definitely not incognito.

Thanks for your replies everyone. It frustrates me when game developers over-complicate, and the Uplay sync is no exception.
As it was said, having Uplay re-sync to the steam cloud generally fixes the problem, but this issue is prominent and it will keep happening again and again with no heal.
I understand that the game wasn't released recently, but I suggest a patch. That way it will be less likely this will happen with other games.
Game launching for games purchased off steam is best left to steam.

Alright, so due to the cloud save utterly failing and people assuming we haven't tried reaching real support over this with no luck at all (yo its the weekend they can't do anything when they aren't there), I've come up with an easy temp solution that will not restore your game but will allow you to continually play through your game without having to deal with this, and its really easy! It just takes a moment.

So, apparently your saved files are stored in C:\\program files(x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft game launcher\save games\long *** folder name\4

It'll have like save 1 through 25 and the meta saves + whatnot. What you do, is make a folder on your desktop or somewhere easy to access, copy and paste the files into that folder whenever you have finished playing (without closing out of it, just make sure you go to say the main menu before doing this and then ALT TAB)

Now, when you start up you will have your saves backed up. Just enter into your origin for saves file (that 4 folder), delete everything, and then copy and paste the saved files from that folder you made on your desktop, into that 4 folder annnnd then start it up without cloud sync enabled, you'll get into your game just fine and be able to continue your progress without hating ubisoft.

Once again, my client does not allow me to actually save data, this works. It also makes sense. Though it does suck that you might have to do this each and every time but hey, to be able to play the game, it's not so bad. It is an enjoyable one.

    Hope this helps everyone.
