We may have finaly got a real metal trash can I saw in the green house.. what I want most is a group of plain pieces 8 pieces in all ranging from circles triangles squares rectangles that you can choose from several textures and colors . My current project has a land escavator that would look a heck of alot better if I could have used a metalic yellow pieces. But most of all we need lights & elevators. But having a brush with colors and textures to choose will make a world of difference.

Also, how about more than just two weapons available to you when testing your maps? in FC2 all you could test with was the AK47 and a Deagle..

Would be nice to have the full arsenal at your disposal so we can properly test the various amounts of penetration different weapons do to the same surface.

Concrete pieces are nice, but like leadstorm said, give us blank basic geometric shapes that can be painted with different textures. And include concrete and asphalt at a paint option.

Why? If the game looks great in a jungle environment, then why strive to create ugly, monotonous unoriginal urban (cough* call of duty cough*) maps which the engine was not designed to create or look good in?

I would also love some shapes with no sticking out pieces, things that looked like the OCC Blocks in FC2 but instead been solid shapes, and the option to add different skins to them such as wood / metal / tile - Mainly for floors or ceilings when creating indoor themed maps.
Most pieces on the Far Cry games have had sticking out bits here and there, it would be nice to have some simple flat basic pieces sometimes.

I agree it would be best to be able to use any weapon when in the editor - that way you can get a player or 2 to jump in a test map and you can check the range of some weapons with the cover provided and see if things need moving closer or further away.

Panda we recently ran a multiple Themed Contest type thing with one of the choices been Sayonara Savannah (the idea of this was to create a map as intended from the pieces available - An African setting)
We did not get one entry but got them for Explosive & Destructive, Race Maps, Escape Maps, General, Most Creative, Far Cry 3 Tribute (which was the most popular)
The editor can be used in many ways - people make all kinds of stuff so although it might appear that they should all be on a Tropical Paradise when FC3 ships it will be far from that with some of the map makers that like to push the boundaries and think outside the box - Sure a lot might not be that playable but some do a mighty fine job at the same time.

Don't get me wrong I feel that the paradise / jungle setting will be amazing in FC3 and using the pieces in a natural way always looks that bit better I find but for anyone that wanted to create big structures in FC2 they were stuck mostly with the platform03 and concrete items - The Industrial Floors and the Colonial Fencing - you could mix things up with shanty fencing and other stuff and use the iron beam & other parts of buildings to act as a wall, but they were all a bit dull and similar after a while.
