No the Templars are kind of the Enemies of the Assassins.

And Some Templars are sided with the Redcoats, and some are sided with the Patriots. So he will be killing people on both sides. Not because they are Redcoats/Patriots, Because they're Templars.

His father is most likely still alive. Most of his family was probably killed.
