Removing the KDR does sound like a good idea, and personally I would not be opposed to that idea at all. However, you know that if they did remove the KDR from the stats, SO many people would be complaining about how it ruins the "immersion" or that the developers "ruined" the game because they didn't include something as elementary as stat tracking your KDR. It seems like it doesn't matter what GRFS does, people are just predisposed to complain and hate it because this game is different or not what they expected.

I do agree with removing the KDR though. Perhaps at least track kills but not deaths.

You can actually RUN AROUND AND GO FOR THE OBJECTIVE without having to camp and have a high K/D. I have 1.85, I don't camp in the spawn. I hate kids that think that there is a correlation between high KDR's and camping and hate maps like Pipeline for "spray and praying". News flash, you're allowed to have good aim.

Keep the kdr but add a penalty for sitting still for to long. Force people out of there holes. If the objective is deffend, fine sit and deffend but from a close proximity. But if an obbjective needs interaction then atleast support within the area of the objective. So for those that have sat in one place during an objective give them a negative affect for not assisting the team. If you get 500xp for interacting with the objective and 350xp for deffending that same objective there should be a negative affect for not having any involvement in either. -100xp with a big chicken image should pop up.

I have a few ideas that could curve other player behaviors as well. Sorry to go off topic but something must be said about spawn camping. There should be negative points for that to.

    Thanks

At times I would agree with you. I do my best not to play with guys who place a lot of importance on this. The biggest problem is that it promotes cheating for some. The become so consumed with it they will risk a ban. Some are so worried about it that they make you online night of gaming miserable. For me good or bad I do not care. I just like to know how I have done. I do my best no more no less. And when someones kd is too good to be true I let Microsoft sort it out.

There is an undeniable correlation between knowing your kd and camping. If you are one of those that pride yourself so much on your kd, like you can go to the bank and say "Hey approve me for a loan at a great rate because my kd is 2.50", then knowing your kd will make you camp because you and everybody else can see your stats and your hang down twitches a little bit every time somebody says "Wow, look at that guy's kd, ITS OVER 9000!"

The point? SOME (keyword is SOME) people have proven that they can't handle the kd stat being tracked, so in order to help eliminate campers and make the game more objective based, remove the stat. Thank those irresponsible kd campers.

I absolutely love the way DICE made the BC2 scoreboard. It only showed the points scored by each individual, you could still see your own Kills and Deaths, but not everyone elses.

Maybe if they did something like this, we might see a little more competition. If they put team assists and objectives captured, along with XP in the match scoreboard, and at the bottom of the screen show your personal stats, maybe people wouldn't feel the need to be the biggest badass in a match by having the best KDR.

I was in a match yesterday, Decoy on Pipeline, the enemy was attacking. They got the final objective, but instead of winning, the just data hacked us the entire time and spawn killed us. The could have taken that objective a hundred times over, but nah, they wanted the easy kills. That's the type of mentality that ruins games. A perfect FPS/TPS in my mind would be one that removed KDR and Snipers entirely, it would get rid of most of the camping d-bags that don't help the team.

People who ***** about high K/d's are often the ones who get massacred by good players.. I'd love to play against you and you decide if I'm camping..

    this^

k/d is just an epeen stat that only opens up offensive trash talking and epeen measuring contests. look in this game you NEED to go for the objective. going for the objective WILL cause you to die. too many people put 2 and 2 together and say, "well, im not doing that anymore because i just went negative k/d"

Strange how in a team based game they would rather show your K/D and not your W/L? Strange :S

I know right? I find people with high KDR's usually never aim down the sights and over gas their weapons; why do you need that? Oh wait.....you play CoD.
