Hey guys!
It's been a while, but I do remember some people here on the forums asking if desctructible bridges would come into play in Far Cry 3. Well, I never heard any confirmation of it, but I think I may have some proof.
In the gameplay trailer, at the scene when Jason it riding his jet-ski around the shark in the water, in the top-left of the screen, you can see a destroyed bridge. Whether this was done by Jason or an AI, or whether it's just fancy scenery, I have not a clue. But it's hope.
P.S You may not think this subject to be very important, but I do. :P I take bridges very seriously. It can mean a way funner free-roam experience, setting IED's on bridges.![]()
I hope they're in multiplayer/map editor though. I love terrain/features that can change during a match, not necessarily just destructible stuff.
For example:
- Changing dynamic weather(per-determined by level's creator if static or not)
- Control panel operated doors/latches/drop chutes
- Level traps
- Rising/lowering water levels for in-game flood situations
- Walls that are affected by explosions so you can blast your way through them for an alt route.
ect
Destroyed bridges purpose must be to prevent the player to go to certain place before certain trigger (most probably a main campaign trigger), after that the bridge will be (re)constructed giving entrance to a new area.
Asumming what you say as true, if a bridge gets down, how will be recontructed? becuse i dont want to fall and explode, or take a long deviation with my jeep, everytime y need to travel trough it.
