    Avengers Assemble!!!!! [Possible Spoilers]

As a card carrying member of "The Merry Marvel Marching Society" you KNEW I'd have to catch this one. Caught it last night and loved it! Felt like I was 7 again going to the "corner store" to get the magazine that was half Capt. America and half Iron Man at the time. Gotta give Whedon credit. It was funny when it needed to be and serious when it had to be, just the right balance.

The entire cast was spot on perfect. I even liked Hawkeye! I especially liked the fact that he ran out of arrows! Finally the hero runs out of bullets! My fave scene though did involve a green personage meeting Thors half bro for the first time. That my friends is how you bring the pain! Stay all the way till the end of the credits as there are two "stingers" at the end. The make the perfect cherry on top of one great ice cream sunday.

I'm sure DC is readying their own Justice League feature but the bars been set mighty **** high and they'll have to really bring their "A" game if they want to match it much less beat it! Nice nuances in Fury's portrayl as well, not afraid to buck his superiors or lie to his team to get the job done. The girl sitting in front of me joyously told everyone that would listen that she was seeing the film for the THIRD time already. That, as they say in the biz, is legs. Welp for those who haven't seen it yet. enjoy the ride!

Saw it Sunday... talk about moping the floor.. I thought it was great too.. For me the worst part was Caps costume... and that was a "ennhh.. it's Cap.. Can't do too much with it..." Very entertaining... I was running to and from the head each time I had to go ..... Everytine Thor spin his hammer I got goose bumps and visions of Jack Kirby.. I also liked the way they rendered the Kirbyesque other dimensional worlds.. Wheedon is great.. been a fan since Firefly which is IMO the most underrated SciFi show ever... a real shame it was cancelled so early and a prime example of network mucketty mucks with their collective heads up their kiesters.. The Hulk was the best ever .. and Natasha was ..... Natasha... YUM!! All in all a very very well done piece of kit... and like you said... DC better come with the A game 'cause the bar is pretty d@mn high..

I went to see it last weekend and I thought it was great! My wife is a comic book nerd and she really liked it as well. I was also told by a co-worker that one thing that we did happen to miss was the scene after the credits finished rolling. Usually my wife and I will wait to see if anything comes on after the credits, but my brother-in-law and his wife wanted to get out of the theater before the crowd started moving, so off we went. Dang it, I'll have to see it when it comes out on DVD. On a side note, I never really followed a comic book series religiously where I'd buy every issue like some folks I knew did. I would ever so often buy (or speed read through them in the store if I was broke) a Spider-Man, Batman, Doc Strange, etc when the cover or story caught my attention. I'd usually pick up stuff like Classics Illustrated, Kull the Conqueror, Tomahawk, and Turok, Son of Stone. As a consequence I only got a general knowledge of the characters like the ones in the Avengers and the other movies about Spider-Man, et al. Nowadays, I'll catch up pretty quick about them because my wife is comic book encyclopedia who, once you get her started, will let you know everything about a specific comic book character, the details surrounding them in their world, and their chronology and development over the years. (heh, whether I want that much info or not about it. Sometimes I swear I can smell ozone and wiring melting due to my brain overloading from too much info at once, lol!) For instance, I didn't know jack squat about the movie 'The Watchmen' when we rented it. She gave an explanation of their world and characters before we saw the movie, which made the story easier to follow as it played out. Another thing is that She'll point out when Stan Lee appears in the Marvel movies. Before, I would never have known what he looked like and these little joke cameos would've buzzed right over my head.
