I am getting ZERO help in the Technical Forum so maybe someone here can help me.

I uninstalled the game from c:\Farcry
Almost 40 minutes later, I changed my mind. I put CD #1 back in and click Install. I agree with the EULA and it asks if I want to install to c:\Farcry. I click "Agree". It starts to install.....

Suddenly, the monitor goes blank. My monitor displays "No signal, monitor is working". The CD drive stops spinning and there is no hard drive light. It stays in this state. No keystrokes or mouse movement has any effect.

I have to power off my computer and on again. Everything works fine, except not Farcry. The Farcry dir was made, some files are in the Farcry dir (only a few).

Why is this reinstall not working?

I have made several attempts. It crashes randomly. Twice on CD #1 and one time I got to CD#2 before it did the samething.

    What bug is this?
How do I install my game?

It never asked me for a CD-key, does that come at the end of install (I don't remember from my first install, which worked fine)

The odd thing is I have had the game for weeks now and I have finished it.I can and have installed it before to the very same dir. Why now does this happen?

Flash, we are not ignoring you over in the tech forum, I think your thread just got lost.

    Please post a DXDIAG report

Go to www.guru3d and download teh Sandra 2004 program and run through each one of the benchmarks to see if you get another system crash.

Personally, I don't think the problem is with the game perse, I think it's just triggering a problem in your system.

Unless you clean up the registry, it's going to remember where you stored the game last

Are you oppose to doing a format reinstall of your system ?

It doesn't ask for your CD key until you try to play multiplayer.

Sure you don't have a virus or something ?

Defrag your hard drive and try again, though I think it's something else.

You haven't been overclocking or anything have you ?

Obviously something changed, so you gotts help us figure out what is different.

many people have un-installed and re-installed. I have twice myself, not because of problems, but because I moved to a dedicated disk

i am having a similar problem reinstalling i get an error message: error applying transforms.verify that the specified transform paths are valid. E:\2057.mst.
i have tried copying to the hard drive and the file seems valid.
i think this may be a windows installer problem.
    Can anyone help?
