Community Managers, I request your help. [disabled gamer question]

Hello. I am a disabled gamer. Well, slightly disabled. There are people worse off than myself, but I can still be lumped into this area of people. Now, my particular disability was the result of an unfortunate accident that culminated into having much of my forearm muscle, of my left arm, removed. This gives me maybe 5-10% usage of my head. I cannot grip, bend my fingers, or move them much at all.

I know, I play on the wrong set of systems for the games I like, but this accident occurred two years ago, well after I was into console gaming. In the last couple of years, some gaming developers have put in alternate control setups for gamers with problems particular to mine, and some much worse. What I ask of you is this: Is there any way you can relay this problem to the developers. There are many gamers who could benefit from either customizable controls (Skyrim does this), semi-customizable control (Forza does this), or alternate setups geared towards gamers like myself (Black Ops, MW3 do this)?

It is something near and dear to me. For example, I currently play games holding the controller with my right hand on my thigh, using my left wrist to move. I cannot use LT and LB ****ons, unless I remove my wrist from the stick and push them with the side of my wrist. This would also benefit gamers with amputations, cerebral palsy, etc., etc. I understand there are custom controllers available, but they range from prices of 100 to 350+, which is too green for my blood.

    Thanks for hearing me out.

I have a friend who has limited movement in both of his hands and encounters this same problem. But he absolutely loves Tom Clany games as well as game such as Fallout, Skyrim, BLOPS, etc. I think it would be great to add handicap accessible control schemes into the game.

    I support this 100%

If you decide to open a money drive I personally will be willing to aid your quest to get a new controller.

i am so sorry this happened to you. my dad was in a horrible atv accident and now he has problems all over his body, including his wrist and one of his legs so now he has limited mobility for life. i feel your pain, but i do support having control setups accessible to handicap people 100%. this is something not just ubisoft, but other companies should implement as well.

    Hi JoshEstes!

I have happily forwarded a link to this thread to management. I have a few friends who are disabled and have similar problems with playing games, I'm pleased to help out even if it's in such a small way.

Realistically, what's to stop the devs from doing something like this? http://beefjack.com/news/call-of-dut...abled-players/

Would it be management, time constraints, could this be patched in after the game was out? I know, as it says in the article, a color blindness patch was released for Bioshock 2.
