official maps. Okay fair enough. I didn't really play on those anyway.
Custom made using editor. A must have.
Its a feature which is clearly desired by the community so the reason for only two options is to show whether people want it or not, because it clearly does matter to them. Having a third option for saying it "doesn't matter" is the same as saying that the community's opinion "doesn't matter".Originally Posted by mambonuts Go to original post

It means personally I could take the game with, or without vehicles...so, it doesn't have a direct impact on me, either way. Other's can choose whatever they wish...
I'm not losing any sleep over it, that's for sure.
mambo
I think, that if Ubi wants to keep vehicles out of the official release maps, then by all means, keep them out and focus the multiplayer as you intend it to be.
However, the Editor, and the community that supports it, do not exactly play the game as the developers intended.
It is for this very reason that the Editor has had the lifespan that it has.
People make maps for all different types of gameplay tastes.
Comparing FC to COD or to BF, I myself prefer Battlefield. I like the focus of the gameplay over COD, but most of all, I enjoy the vehicles. All of the vehicles. They make that game.
I feel that Vehicles should be an option in the Editor. To say that they do not promote teamplay is arrogance on the part of the Dev team.
I of course have ALWAYS felt that if something is availible in the single player game, it should also be availible in the Editor.
Usually maps that had vehicles were too slow paced in FC2. The vehicles in FC2 handled like garbage, were way too slow, and as soon as you hit a rock they'd set on fire. If we're talking about having those same vehicles in FC3 multiplayer, no thanks.
I think this is a great opportunity to get better on foot maps and have people really rethink how to utilize their space instead of making massive maps with vehicles.
