First of all, I know that this thread is going to sound a little bit critical. Keep in mind that I have nothing against FC3 and am very excited for it. I just wanted to point out a few plot holes that I noticed to see if anyone has speculation about them.
1) First of all, the one everybody already knows about: why is Jason some "regular young guy" but still able to sneak around, throw knives, use guns and grenades, and have the ability to jump off ledges and onto people while stabbing them in the chest? This plot hole doesn't bother me a ton, I just think that Ubisoft could pretty easily make an explanation.
2) In one of the trailer, Jason's girlfriend is heard saying that the islands are not on the map. In real life, any archipelago big enough to be an open-world game would easily have been spotted by a satellite and been fully explored within weeks. Obviously, this isn't the case here. Is there something more to this mysterious island? Is it part of the plot?
3) in all of the gameplay demos, it can be clearly seen that there is a huge amount of weapons and vehicles. However, if this island is so cut off from civilization, the vehicles would have run out of gas within a few months, and the weapons would have run out of ammo. Once again, is there something that we don't know about? Is there a secret supply line for some reason? An abundance of resources and factories?
4) Also, this is kind of not a plot hole, but I was just wondering: in the first seen demo, Vaas claims that he already "killed you once". Is this just Vaas being crazy?
5) This is the one that confuses me most: one of themes of FC3 is clearly that everyone is insane. Why is this so? The developers have actually stated that even Jason is going slightly crazy. I highly doubt that that stress and violence alone could turn EVERYBODY crazy. Maybe something on the island is doing this somehow?
Thanks for reading and please respond if you have any speculation.
1. The E3 trailer is around 1/3 through the game. Jason has been on the island for quite some time already.
2. No idea.
3. I think the developers said Vaas uses the island for human trafficking. Obviously he does have a supply line.
4. Again, he might think he already killed Jason, because he had met him earlier.
5. Maybe.
Hahaha, yeah, you might be over thinking it right now. These are all questions that the games storyline would answer. We'll wait and see.Originally Posted by o0Kman0o Go to original post
The funny thing is that they're not Plot Holes, More just over thinking the situation.
And even thou you may think I was just trying to be awkward with my latest post, but it's true.
I'm sure that they'll get better reviews due to it being a fun game, more than having a few 'over looked scenarios' fixed.
Wait 'till the story is relieved, then maybe your questions shall be answered.
You can over-look every Game and Movie and consider them plot holes.
Indeed..Originally Posted by o0Kman0o Go to original post
Til the game is our hands and we have completed it, you can't really say anything about the plot or any holes...
3). Vaas fell for the myth of global warming/climate change/MMGW/anthropagenic climate change (did I miss any?) and sent the only sane people on the island to produce renewable biofuels.
Trouble is, as most everyone knows by now, the energy available from HC fueled engines is DIRECTLY tied to how much carbon in the fuel you convert to carbon dioxide. So, in a moment of "undeniable sanity" Vaas proves again he is insane by following Al Gore's quest to separate people from their money under the banner of "caring for the Earth".
I hope that helped.
