    Dance Routines in YSFE 2012

It is just me, or do the fast dance routines (after you learn how to do them) seem unnaturally fast to anyone else? For example, I was trying the "Hip Hop" dance routines in YSFE 2012 today, and it was just too fast for me to keep up...and I've been using YSFE and YSFE 2012 for quite some time now. The movements just seem way too fast. I don't know if it's like this for everyone else or if it's because I've got the game installed to my Xbox's hard drive? Thoughts from the community?

Yes, I also think they're faster than they should be. After quite a bit of practice I can manage to keep up, but it doesn't feel like dancing, it feels like running a race I also feel the trainer movements appear robotic in the fast modes. The fast cardio boxing classes do not suffer from this issue, they're at a good brisk pace but reasonable. I love the dance classes in general and do at least one each day during my workout but I mostly find myself sticking to the full rehearsals.

I've only done the intro one so that wasn't too fast - but the arm pump in the hip hop will NOT NOT NOT register my arms no matter what. I've tried everything and it always gives me 0% on that. At least I use more calories while yelling at the game to give me credit for my arms. It makes me so angry.

I wish the kinect had a second sensor - say one that you hooked to the ceiling behind or overhead from where you stand. A little more reliability in knowing where you are and what you are doing.

I'm having the same problem with that same routine in the hip-hop dance classes. If I really exaggerate my arm movements I can get a few green check marks which brings me up to 20%. But there's definitely something wrong with the one routine. The rest of hip-hop works well for me and I can generally get 100% on the other routines. I have to say though - me doing hip-hop is really a sight to see ...or not

LOL - yes, well, there is that. I feel absolutely foolish doing any of those dance classes. Perhaps something a little more "They Might Be Giants" oriented would make me feel less out of my element as a nerd.

Dear Ubi, there seems to be a consensus from a few of us. Could you address the issue with your tech teams?

My theory has yet again been confirmed. I completed all the African dances today, and when the dancing speeds up, the Tribal Lunge and the Moon Step moves, for example, are just WAY TOO FAST!!! I can't imagine that lunges at that speed can actually be good for you, can they? This (speed dancing, I'll call it) is quite disappointing for a Kinect title. As stated by others, the speed just makes everything more robotic and less like natural movement. This really needs to looked at by the developers.

I also have the problem with Bollywood. It seems that they just sped up the video of training and no real trainer has ever tried to make it at this speed. I somehow doing better at this speed, however. Maybe they also have to set down the recognition rate....

I have to say that since my previous post in this thread I started being able to get a consistent 100% on the Wind and Pump routine in the Hip Hop classes. To my knowledge there has been no update since I had problems with it.

I still think the fast dance classes are all too fast. Perhaps an intermediate speed would be a helpful addition.
