No new news! No release date(not even an estimate)! No new video! No beta testing! No company employees interacting in any meaningful way on the forum!
Why bother with a new Far Cry. Your marketing on Far Cry 2 was almost non-existant. Far Cry 3 is heading down the same path. Some marketing for a game of this type would be teaser videos(almost a year ago we got some, not a freakin 1 since), beta testing(nothing yet), advertising(nope), a release date(even a month or a seaon would help).
You are either making the "best game ever", due to the fact that its taking longer to develop than any game in history(not a joke). Or, you arn't working on it all anymore(this seems more likely).
At any rate, the talk in the FC2 lobbies is that UBISOFT doesnt have a freakin clue, and they dont give a rats *** about the folks that might promote the game word of mouth(Your best source of sales. Lets be honest here, the FC franchise doesnt have the Battlefield and MW COD guarantee of sales like they do. Without us, your game will tank, good game or not!). Most believe that the games development has been cancelled. You arnt making us intrigued by the lack of news! You are making us pissed the f__k off, and ambivilent.
Bottom line, dazzle US, the purchaser, the player!!!! Quit sucking *** at the game conventions with the same tired videos! And for crying out loud(no pun intended), let us know what the f__k is going on!!! Could someone at UBI visit this forum and tell us something, anything???
And, for all you cowards afraid to upset the emotions of the developers or forum moderators, grow a freakin pair! If there were enough of us expressing how we really feal, then they would get with the program and show us the respect we deserve! So, keep your, "lets give them time and not upset them" comments to yourself! Or bring them to the FC2 PS3 player match and I will dump some lead in your pansy ***!

every game has its own announcement plan, on Far Cry 3, they intend to surprise us with something New every time! that is why there is still 4 teams working on the game.
By the way, whoever says it is cancelled are clearly wrong. Would you get rid of a game that has had so much work on? Think, it must be nearly done 2.7years working on the game (probably not including planning).
As I have mentioned in many posts in another forum on this site. We will get a bombshell of news in the next "couple of months". I expect something at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) on the 7th March - 9th March

Since before Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Wii, I have been waiting for StarCraft Ghost to come out until they officially announced the game is postponed. Way to use the word "history" and saying it isn't a joke. And Ubisoft isn't working on Far Cry 3 anymore? How is that more likely? Ubisoft is simply trying to stay quiet and prevent leaking information. There is a release date, all right, and it is ambiguously said as 2012. They didn't mention any delays so far. The best I can assume is that Ubisoft is waiting for game conventions such as E3 to arrive, therefore they are able to release more information. The use of cursing and foul language does nothing to tempt Ubisoft or the moderators in this forum to bring out more information about Far Cry 3, it doesn't help. Gran Turismo 4 was released on December 28, 2004 in Japan and Gran Turismo 5 was released on 24 November 2010 - a 6 year gap.
Far Cry 2 was released on October 21, 2008.
All of the above games are EPIC in my experienced opinion. The problem is that the company making Far Cry 3 are not just making Far Cry 3. If it was a company making just Far Cry games we would be on about Far Cry 14 by now.
However - that said - I'm still disappointed in the lack of communication from Ubi. Maybe they can't give us a release date because other games will flood the market at the same time as theirs, but surely they can give us some more sweet vids of the game. Tell us something about what they are doing with it. Anything. Even just respond on this forum to give us true die-hard Far Cryers something to ogle over.
I tell you I will go insane if I watch the FC3 vids again. Do you know what the definition of insanity is? Well I guess Ubi might need a dose of their own medicine since they are doing the same thing over and over again - omitting to keep their fanbase happy.

A marketing plan Is a marketing plan, not much can change that (Apart from leaks) but anyway. Their marketing plan obviously is to generate hype each time information comes. As you all can see, you want more news and you "hate ubisoft" for not announcing any. BUT when they do announce something, you will be bouncing off the walls in excitement just like I was when I watched the E3 trailer for the first time.
If you understand what I mean, basically you will hate them for not giving you news and you guys of course are losing patience but when more news does get released you will regain that patience with hype.

Did any of these other developers release in-game videos at a major game con and then drop of the face of the planet? "Hype"? The first person shooter world is hardly "hyped" about the Far Cry franchise. This is due to there horrid marketing. They need a kick in the **** which is clearly the intent of my post. In regards to the video they released, never saw it, as I could care less about what might be, what could be, or what may never be.
