    Floor exercise/calorie bug and workaround

I have been noticing on all of the workouts that contain floor exercises that after a set of three floor exercises that the calories stop adding on to the workout total until the next set of floor exercises. The calroies start add up again at the start of the next set of three floor exercises. Has anyone else seen this?

I've discovered a workaround. Right after completing a set of 3 floor exercises if I step out of the play space and allow the workout to pause, then I step back in and select "resume", when the next set of exercises begins the calorie counter starts ticking again. This is definitely a bug.

I have reported this to Ubisoft support and have received a reply saying they will forward it on to the appropriate channels.

BTW The new forum is beautiful!

Funnily enough I noticed this problem for the first time today. It was surprising how annoyed I became at losing just 30 calories! Many thanks for the get-around.

I'm not convinced this bug is resolved by stepping in and out; I think it would "fix" itself anyway. I am saying this based on having completed every possible exercise, and many of them multiple times. For a number of exercises there seems to be a maximum number of calories you can burn. I think that the game expects you to operate at around a 75% accuracy rate which means that by the end of the complete set of routines you will have burned the pre-determined maximum. However, if you track close to perfect from the beginning then your calorie count goes up quicker. This means that it has to stall at certain points so that by the end you do not exceed the maximum they have programmed. I regularly get close to 100% on every routine so my calorie count goes up rapidly for the first few routines then it often comes to a complete standstill before it starts moving again.

I could be wrong and maybe I've not realised it is certain routines that are the culprit, like floor exercises. I'll certainly keep an eye out now.

The game may well work differently for you. But for me there is a major difference in the number of calories reported as burned when I use the workaround noted above and when I do not. I, too, have completed every possible exercise and so the pattern became clear to me. It is of course not a fix. A fix can only come from the game developers. Several people, here and elsewhere, have reported that they have found the workaround helpful. It is unfortunate if it seems not to help everyone.

It's quite possible we are talking about different bugs.

I have noticed on some of the Abs workouts, for example, that during the Basic Crunch and Roll-up/Roll-Down type exercises there is a graph in the background which shows your shoulder position as you go up and down. If you're doing it right then it produces a smooth "sine wave". When this bug has affected me (where it fails to track properly) the outline of me on the screen is doing it perfectly, but the graph doesn't follow a smooth curve. This suggests the Kinect has not located my critical body parts correctly and is tracking the wrong bits. However, after the set of three have been completed it always fixes itself automatically and if the routine is repeated later on, or if this was the second time, the other one would track perfectly.

On another note, has anyone else noticed (using Firefox) how bugged the edit box is on this forum? If you press left or right arrows to edit a word the focus randomly goes to another element on the page and you have to click in the box to get the cursor back. Very frustrating.

The floor exercises are certainly plagued with a variety anomalies. What I have noticed with the Basic Crunch and the Roll Up and Down, and any floor exercise the required the legs bent but stationary, is the the sensor sometimes loses track of my legs. So, while I'm getting green checks of the crunch or roll, I am not getting them for the legs bent. I have found that I can remedy this by (silly as it sounds) quickly kicking my legs in the air a couple of times. When the sensor finds my legs again and I'm back to getting perfect chains on those exercises.

As for the forum and browser, I generally use my Android tablet when foruming and the Dolphin browser has it's own set of difficulties with the forum
