Noticed that the link to SHIII has been removed from this site?

Anyway that's not why I'm posting.
Was wondering who has seen this game, who will get it.
Graphics look superb and make a refreshing change from IL2.

Yeah take a look at the trailer, where they pass an iceberg and unwillingly end up in a fight with a king george class ship and some destroyers. It looks awsome, just because of these videos i had too install and play Sh2

Saw the screen shots. Was really impressed by the ones with the U-boat firing on the Sunderland flying boat.
The waves and wakes behind the ships is also worth noting.
The ships sinking was quite good.
The screen shots were great overall.

    Was wondering ?
Does Aces of the Pacific addon work with Silent Hunter III?

I'm very excited about and waiting for SH III. SH II was a huge disappointment, as it was simply an incomplete and un-proofed game. It took the geniuses at Subsim to work out the worst bugs to make it just barely playable. I got Pacific Aces, but found it too hard for me to deal with all the custom mods and tweaking needed to make it work easily. I understand SH III is a completely new engine with no relationship or compatability with PA or any of the custom mod work done to fix SH II. They started from scratch, as SH II was just too corrupted to re-write. So far, everthing reported about SH III sounds very positive, and they are taking the time to proof it and make it work out of the box. Aces of the Deep is still the benchmark, and its game play has not yet been equaled.

    Agreed!

I can't wait for SHIII. It looks fantastic, it seems very immersive, and there will be a dynamic campaign (IIRC).

BTW, Jani, how have you been my friend? I have not spoken to you in a long time.

    S!

Getting it as soon as released. After reading a German U-Boat commander's memoirs I knew this is the game for me. He was one of the very few captains to survive the war...hopefully SH3 brings those stories to life on the computer screen.
