    This is why I use surgical spirit. It consists of pure ethanol and methanol only and it evaporates almost immediately.
    It is used in medical wipes (used to clean skin before surgery or injection) and is ideal for removing dirt and sweat from a surface like hard plastic.
    It's also ideal for removing "thermal-interface-material" from processors and heatsinks and I always keep some in my tool-kit. I've used it for many years to keep my CH flightgear clean of dirt and I don't detect any damage from using it.
