Well right now I would say my Kinect is about 2 1/2 to 3 ft off the ground on my tv stand directly underneath the tv. Now when I go through the tracking menu it says it is two low, but I think part of that may be because my tv stand is a shiny black and it makes the kinect think it can't see the floor. I will try re-doing my Id and if that doesn't help I may try the clip mount. Thanks again for the response. I appreciate all the help.

I've just measured it. The lens of my Kinect camera, which is mounted on top of my tv, is located 91 cm (about 3 ft) above the ground and has free view of my playground. That has been proven to be the best position for me.

I remember when I first got my Kinect I had it and my TV mounted on my desk. Because it was toward the back of my desk surface the sensor could not see the floor properly and so it cut my on-screen image off at the knees. To fix this problem I realized I needed to get the TV and sensor closer to the front edge of the surface it sits on. I ended up having to completely rearrange the room to achieve this. Now my TV and Kinect are on a narrow shelf with no problem seeings the full floor.

Also, in moving things about I realized the the higher the Kinect sensor is mounted (within reasonable limits) the closer you can get to the TV with your play space. That is why eye level or slightly higher is good for limited play space. My Kinect is a little higher than 5ft from the floor.

Well I have stacked a few things up so now my Kinect is slightly higher than 3 ft. I re-did my kinect ID. I wear special glasses when I use my Kinect so I left them on this time during the facial recognition phase so I am hoping that will help with it seeing and signing me in better. It did recognize me at the end of the ID setup. I haven't run through the tracking menu again yet. But since I have it higher now I am hoping it will see the floor now. I found that Kinect clip on Best Buy's web site so I might check into getting that if I still have issues. The top of my TV is about 58" high so it might help. Unfortunately I can't move the TV closer to the edge of the stand or I will be kicking the wall or my couch. So if putting the sensor higher will help with that, I'm all for that. You guys have been a huge help to me. Thanks so much.

I can add to the zoom lens not being very fitness evolution friendly. I have had success with it for most other kinect games except this one. Luckily have enough space to deal without it, but they should find out what is up with the zoom lens problems.
