I was wondering if we could start a thread (or if this should be on the wiki), where people post suggestions for commonly misinterpreted moves?

I saw on other threads that some other people had also encountered issues where they were mirroring the trainer and not getting credit for the moves which was frustrating.

I have a good experience with maybe 90% of the moves, but the other ones that don't seem to like what I'm doing really frustrate me. The two that have eluded me so far are:

Zen - Wave Squat - For some reason on the squat part, it never gives me credit for the "Squat" part, and I can only get 75% on the move overall. I've tried going down really low, but it never seems to like it. Is there some nuance to this move that I'm not getting?

Sleeve Busting Arm Workout - Shoulder Press - This one also seemed very finicky to me this morning. I thought I was mirroring the trainer, but it wasn't giving me credit for "Arms Up/Down".

Any thoughts? Do I need to recalibrate just for a few mistracked moves?

It's not really a showstopper for me, as I'm still enjoying the workouts and burning calories, but I would like to know if other people might have some pointers for me to start getting credit for these and other moves.

I've toyed with a FAQ type section on the wiki but worry that it would soon expand out of control and have since tried to focus on the positive which is that you get your calories even if you don't get a high % on the exercise.

Personally with the shoulder presses I have a hypothesis that the reason you're on your knees is so that the sensor can hopefully see the top of your hands as you do the press but sometimes it doesn't see that you reached the top. But I have tossed out all concerns because I feel comfortable enough that I'm mirroring the intent of the exercise.

If Ubisoft was taking notes from this forum though (not sure that's a safe but we will see) then it's good for them to know that users are frustrated with an experience where they are trying to do an exercise right and constantly being told they are doing it wrong with a score.

In the few zen classes I've taken I get low scores because I'm trained to see the exercise by the coach and then follow them but you really have to be doing the movement right away. I guess over time I would know the routine but I haven't put enough into it to learn them yet.

Back to the exercises that don't register properly: Kickbacks. This really shouldn't be that tough and a lot of people seem to have problems with them.

Hmm, I hadn't considered that. I thought if my hands went out of the frame, they would go all bubbly and disintegratey? I can try moving a little farther back when I do the shoulder press though, thanks.

And I completely agree that having one or two moves misread doesn't ruin the experience for me. I'm still motivated to keep up the exercise, and I'm working up a sweat so it's all good. A little more feedback would be appreciated in these rare cases though.

Eep, I haven't even gotten to that one! Look forward to it!

    Zen - Plie Chi
    Zen - Wave Squat

I've been able to get credit for the Plie Chi by doing it incorrectly (thrusting my hips forward and leaning backward into a near backbend while squatting). I haven't yet found a "workaround" for the wave squat. It's the squat part that gives me trouble. Arms are fine. I've tried both wide and narrow stances, and also high and low squats.

Because of these issues, the Zen class just isn't fun for me, so I rarely ever do this class anymore even though I typically enjoy both yoga and tai chi.

Coincidentally, I have no issues getting credit for squats in cardio boxing so long as I'm doing them correctly. In fact, cardio boxing is near perfect when it comes to sensing movements.

The Michelle Bridges routines have lots of rhythum issues but especially the sumo side in the athletic workout. Fast skaters in the same MB routines has arms issues but if I wave them above my head rather than side to side I get more credit (green dots).

    Personalized training issues with pendulum.

So yesterday I think I figured out what I was doing wrong in my Plie Chi. I think I used to just spread my arms out really wide, but I noticed that the avatar keeps her arms actually slightly bent, with her elbows going back. In the full expression of the pose, her elbows are behind the plane of her body. After I did that adjustment I started getting credit for Plie Chis.

Still have no idea what I'm doing wrong on the wave squat.

I've noticed there is a difference in tracking when I train in the morning (daylight) or in the evening (artificial light).

However, certain exercises remain tough to register. Especially, the Back Lunge, Sumo Rising, Tap Back and Power Jog cause me difficulties to complete them with 100%.

Did anyone else notice a difference in their "self" on screen this morning. Usually I am something of an amorphous, albeit brightly colored blob. Today I can see what I am wearing and my face and features. I think this will help with the tracking I now am able to follow my arms better and I can see why the knee repeaters have arm troubles as I can see exactly where my actual hands are in rather than just a blob. Just wondering if this was just me or is everyone else experiencing this change too?

The game has been updated to make it happen? If the game has not been updated is difficult to have change ...
