I have an old TrackIR1 which I'm perfectly happy with but it will not work with Windows7 64bit.

I was wondering if anyone that might have upgraded to a TrackIR 4 or 5 has an old TrackIR3 they no longer use and would be willing to sell?

    Preferably in the UK.

I dona't remember if the TrackIR 1 has the same work around issue as the TrackIR 2..

I have a TrackIR 2 and use it with Win7 64 bit. The work around is to use these TrackIR 3 64 bit drivers and then use those with the older TRACKIR program that you use.

Actually here is an old thread regarding the subject matter.. But I can't confirm that it works with the TrackIR 1.

Thanks but I have already tried the 'fix' but can't get it to work.

The 4.1.029 beta 4 driver has been pulled from the NaturalPoint site.
I can't get it to work with any of the other 4.1.x drivers, even with some creative registry hacking.

If anyone has a copy of the 4.1.029 beta 4 driver I'd love to try it...

Tried Version 4.1.030 - Final B which has very little difference to Version 4.1.029 Beta 4 and still no beans.

I just don't think it'll work with the old TrackIR 1

Extreme One, A buddy of mine posted this on another forum. Thought you may want to try it.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">I just tested it on my laptop and it worked. Heres what I did:

Installed Version 4.1.030-Final B drivers into a directory other than Program Files(x86), I
created a TIR2 folder, choose the "drivers only checkbox". Then installed the IR2 Version
3.13 drivers and tools file, now connect the IR2 device to your USB Plug and it should
see the drivers correctly. Used the IR2 Natural Point shortcut to open the software,
choose a profile for the game you are running and it should work...worked for me
anyway with 7 ultimate 64 bit.

I have the drivers if anyone needs them.

    Thanks Coastie.

    I just don't think it's possible to make a TrackIR1 work with Windows 7.

All the workarounds I've found relate to TrackIR2 and even peeking at the 4 series driver .inf files there is no mention of TrackIR 1 at all.

I got an old TIR 3 Pro on the shelf, working and all.Got no 6DOF code for it though. A small thing though, the base is broken. Those metal stands is not attached to the base anymore.Bought an LCD and thought those stands looks bendable but no,they´re not.I think it´s possible to solder them on.I used one of those double sided tape bathrooms hooks and attached it to the hook with a screw. Anyway,I do live in Sweden. I do not want anything for the TIR itself but maybe the shipping cost.

    Yeah,that´s it.

Wow Deedsundone thanks for the kind offer.

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to mount on top of my monitor.

I'd be more than happy to Paypal you some cash to cover the cost of shipping to me in the UK.

If you'd like to send me a private message we can discuss it further...
