When the first jets were build, prop planes pilots were amused by the P-38 incredible maneuverability and pity those jets that felt like gas tanks with wings.
Time has passed and modern pilots wanted something else other than flying tanks. British and americans gave their pilots the Harrier, but... they were still unhappy with its non existant maneuverability.
The russians finally came up with the Su-27 and found out it could pull a nice move which was later called "Pugachev's cobra". But it still wasn't as nice as the P-38's move!
Thrust vectoring control was finally available for modern fighters, but all the pilots pity it took so many years to match the P-38's super move.
Many enthusiasts claim "the P-47/51/spitfire" won teh war", but we all know that's BS. The axis pilots **** their pants when they saw the P-38 pulling this maneuver, and either ran home or surrended at once when not getting killed first.

uhhhh....The Wright flyer won the war. Once Orville figured out how to hang those MGs on it, it was all over.

Snoopy's Doghouse won the war. If he hadn't shot down the Red Baron, the Deathstar would've moved into position before Luke Skywalker could fire proton torpedoes down the exhaust shaft, and the Battle of the Bulge would have been lost.

Nope. You are all wrong. Trucks won the war.

Those that had the most trucks won the war.

OH...and those supply weenies at the rear. You know who they are....they've got nice shiny web gear while yours is held together with duct tape. They've got clean, round faces while yours is browned by the sun and chisled by privation. They've got a fresh shave while you have stubble because your razor is dull and your shaving water cold.

Whoever had the most of the above...they're always gonna win.

Without it UK and Russia would have won the war earlier. I recomend you to take a look at Ford and GM history (just a slight example).

Like his father, Edsel's reputation is clouded over associations with Nazi Germany. Questions linger regarding what degree of control Edsel maintained over Ford plants in Germany and Vichy France during World War II, and concerning to what extent Ford shareholders profited from the forced labor the Nazis used at those plants. A U.S. Treasury Department investigation of Edsel for alleged violations of the Trading with the Enemy Act (12 U.S.C. § 95a) ended shortly after his death in 1943. Ford Motor Company maintains that it lost control of the plants immediately after Germany declared war on the U.S. in 1941, while admitting that some limited profits were received....
