Just bought the brand new Prince of Persia and it wouldn't load the first level/scene. No crash or anything.. just a never-ending load.
I have the new EVGA Geforce GTX 260 and Core I7. (way more than enough to play this game without breaking a sweat)

Had tried all sorts of different display settings and even tried an older driver. Was about to put in a call to Ubisoft when I decided to try one thing I hadnt before:
    Vertical Sync enable

    Problem solved.

Not sure why, but incase anyone else comes here with that problem they can try that.

System details: Vista Ultimate 32 bit, 4GB RAM, MSI X58, Core I7 and Geforce GTX 260

Well in case somebody reads this thread first, there are other things to try if turning on Vertical sync doesn't fix it.

Go to the Nvidia(or ATI) Control Panel. In 3D Settings set defaults and/or set to "Application Controlled".

Also another thing to try is setting your LCD Screen refresh rate to 60Hz. (You can find this in Display Settings, Advanced)
You may need to do the above two things along with turning Vertical Sync on.
