This may not apply to you but this is how I corrected the lower blocks kicking problem on Virtual Smash.
I noticed that in the balance (block catching) game my arms were only visible on screen up to my elbows when I held them straight up. I pressed Y on my controller to bring up the Kinect menu and held my arms straight up when it was capturing my image. I made sure it captured my entire body from feet to the top of my arms. I confirmed this information and straight away I was able to kick the blocks! So, essentially the camera was not aligning my body in relationship to the three levels of blocks but it does now.
I hope this helps anyone out there who has had the same issue.

Thanks for the info I'll definitely give it a try today. I'm not that tall though...at 5'8", if it doesn't get my whole body, if be suprised.

Good morning. smp, I'm 5'8 too but it seemed to be more about the camera capturing too low. Like I said, hold your arms straight up and see if they are totally visable - if they are not I would adjust camera. When it wasn't working the camera was capturing too much floor and not enough body.
