    Cockpit-tastic, carts.

Now then, where was I before all this techno-distraction? Oh yes...

My kit finger's getting itchy - might be time to bust out a 'plane once this one's done.

    Keep 'em coming, chaps!

Final washes, some flowers and grass, and she's done...

...and into the ranks. A litle overscale, but the tree stump helps to hide that.

    Keep 'em coming, chaps!

I wanted to do the first stages of painting of my two StuGs (I had already pre-shaded them) but in the end I could not muster any energy to do anything creative. This is why I hate the holiday season ... filling in for colleages leaves you tired and drained even on weekends.

I guess I'll give an update on my stuff too. All I had to do to finish the Ki-51 was add the antenna aerial, but I snapped off the entire antenna when I tugged on the stretched sprue too hard...I had to take a breather and set it aside.

In the meantime, I've nearly finished my 1/72 Revell Fokker Dr.1 triplane. I decided to finish it as my own interpretation of Lothar von Richtofen's mount. The weathering is light since he only managed to fly it three times! All that's left is the rigging.

As always, let me know what you think or how I can do better.

That video definitely strikes a familiar chord, carts. You are making remarkable progress on that vast beast.

Better switch to airplanes. LF, recall what painting fairies did to Richard Dadd!

That is a pretty little Dr.I, Luno. The debate about the washes applied to the early Dr.Is goes on ad infinitum. Looks good.

I am thinking about doing a bare bones Hasegawa 1:700 KINUGASA as her sister AOBA. I have a phot of her after being modified by Rear-Admiral Scott at Cape Esperance. She had an unusual paint scheme for a Japanese cruiser.

    Lovely little Fokker.

    Don't worry Leit' - there's a Hurricane on the way. Or a Mig-15, or a pair of Sabres...maybe a Hampden. Dither....moi?

    Hi everyone,

    Impressive He177 carts!
Low_Flyer_MkIX I think you have a medieval army now!
    Very nice Gladiator dieg777!
And I just saw some very intresting planes like that Fokker and a Ki-51.

Here’s a little update on my P-40. I will not use the preshading technique anymore, instead I decided to try a new technique by adding lights and shadows with a filter.
    Before the filter:

    And After the filter:

I hope you like the results. For those who want to see the main stpes of the contruction process http://32ndscale.blogspot.com/p/raf.html

Splendid work Cyberwings, the filter technique looks very nice

I just finished the Ki-51. I'm glad I can call it done, although wish I could have done a better job.

Well, I've started a new project, the Novo (Frog) Bristol 138A high altitude research aircraft.

I bought it as a quick and dirty practice build to try some painting techniques to use on the Roden He-111C. I'm really getting sucked into it though. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera available for the time being.

In the meantime, I'll blatantly rip off other folks' work to show you the box art and some of the kit's problem areas.

Check out this engine and cowling:

I've already sanded and reshaped my kit's cowling. The engine is unsalvageable.

Note the lack of internal detail. The author of this build has already added the supercharger inter-cooler fins. I will try to work out something similar.

This shot shows almost all of the plastic parts. Note the mummy figure. Unfortunately, the pin for my propeller was broken and not in the box! I'll have to fashion something out of sprue, once I get some sprue!

I left all my plastic scrap and stock at home, so I'll have to buy another kit to get some (I plan to get the Italeri Il-28 for my grand-uncle who flew them in the war). I think I'll just buy an aftermarket engine too...

The decals don't look like they'll survive in one piece. I hope a coat of micro-scale decal film or future will suffice.

Might I add that in 1/72 scale, at 11 inches (28cm) wingspan, this kit is HUGE!
