So, for the first time ever, I was not able to do all my challenges in a day. I feel kind of sad about it, even though it's not completely my fault. The Level up challenge was the longest yet (and used the evil dough game 3 times) afterall. I also didn't get my challenge update until 1AM.
Unfortunately, Bamboo is back to be evil. I need bamboo yet again for a challenge and having already been a level 4 Gardener, I know it's not a level 4 skill which means it's level 5 or higher which means I have no idea how I'm going to get the Bamboo to finish this challenge. I also have one more challenge after this.
Ugh, I don't know what to do T____T So if you see me standing in the garden looking wishfully at bamboo, this is why.
Dough baking game=evil.
I feel you. Today I was just making food for fun, and I had to make ice cream, so I started the baking game and had to try like 20 times. That wasn't worth it. But, I had a delicious pile of chocolate ice cream. But seriously, a baking game for ice cream? XD
And for your bamboo, I have some friends moving up levels. I can ask them to make bamboo when they're somewhere near. But, I seen my friends planting bamboo in the gardens so I could ask them.
Very much so! I somehow managed to pass each time, thankfully, but it was laggy and slow as always.
Yeeeeeah... XD
Awesome--I hit level 4 which is how I knew and I'm sure there will be some people who hit level 5 in Gardening before me (as mine is unfortunately stuck happening later in the week) so maybe if they're level 5 they will be able to. You can plant Bamboo as early as level 1 if I remember right--you just can't harvest it until 5 or higher (Not even sure if it's at 5--it may even be 6 or 7 or 8. I just know it isn't 4)
1. That IS jumping to conclusions. That is what Jumping to conclusions is. Assuming what something is before you know the full details.Originally posted by sakuramei:

1.) I jump to conclusions? I admit to assuming the negative of everything, but jumping to conclusions?
2.) We're not supposed to ask for help? I asked if you could harvest a head of lettuce for me when I didn't have the ability as a Dancer, and you did. Was I not supposed to do that? And if I wasn't, I'm sorry for breaking the "no asking for help" rule.
3.) I don't understand how mods can be spirits. Are they trying to instill paganism in Imagine Town? I hope not. But it would be cool if we had magic in Imagine Town. We could talk to fairies and ride on broomsticks(Ooh, idea for Halloween!).
2. You're supposed to ask other members (that's part of the point these kind exist)--but you're not supposed to have mods help you on a challenge. If you're confused on what to do, that's fine and you can ask them for help in that regard, but they aren't supposed to give you the items or anything. They do it sometimes because right now, there are like no Gardeners.
3. As Cierra said, it was a joke. I was talking to Bamboo for fun as I refused to move until maybe I could find a gardener who could harvest bamboo. To my surprise, UbiJoolywooly came and helped me out. And Magic =/= Paganism. Regardless, there may be some Pagans on the forum (While I personally am not) that could find that statement hurtful. There's nothing wrong with magic--it is Imagine Town, isn't it? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I should take that post down before any pagans see it!
Well, thanks to some help, I got the challenge done and finished being a Chef! Yay! These were definitely the longest--most likely due to the dough game.
To my surprise, the more level ups I do, the more I've enjoyed the one that was really last on my interest list--Gardening/Landscape Designing. It's one of the things I can't do in real life (I'm allergic to most plant life) and being allergic to something really doesn't make you want to go do it.
I had started as a Chef due to actually having gone to Culinary school. I don't know if I would/want to become a chef (though, my family often jokes about if I started a bakery/cafe), but I do enjoy baking. My main issue is essentially that I'm very heat intolerant--just stirring things over the stove will make me feel like my hand is burning, even if I'm fine. I also don't do well with knives. Luckily, I have a close friend who is always willing to cut the items for me and help me when it comes to putting things in and out of the oven. But considering then he also gets first dibs, I'm sure that's a bonus for him :P
Ironically though, my favorite game so far as a Chef would be the oven game. The knife one is a bit glitchy and god, nobody likes the dough game. If they say they do, they are lying.
I think my favorite thing as a Chef is being able to serve the food--especially as some actually change appears like the roll of bread becoming a big loaf and some of the sandwiches and pies becoming complete again. Banana Split also gets a special bowl and a cookie becomes a plate of them. And you can even put them in your house. I do find some of the placement weird (IE: You can't always put something in the middle of certain tables. Similarly, you can do the middle and right...but not the left.), but it's still an incredibly cute feature that I'm happy is available.
Dancing was the talent I expected myself to keep when all was said and done as I loved a lot of the dances. I used to dance a lot and then stopped for...reasons that are a bit too personal/much for these forums. On top of that, I broke my foot several years later along with some of my toes so...
Modeling was also in the least favorite zone. I never really cared for it and the only thing that made it higher than Gardening were all the poses you could do. I had actually gotten into a modeling class once--but was too shy to really stick with it...plus other issues that once again are a bit too much for this forum. In general though, even if what I can't say did not happen, I probably wouldn't have stuck with it anyway, as, again, shy.

I think the main issue with them is that became "it". You really can't do anything and you can do most of the dances and poses through choreography once you earn them (There's very few you can't) and choreography transcends talents. I never really cared for the walks of either (I mostly just used Oriental or Bohemian if anything), though, I did really like the Idle poses and wish those were always available. Bohemian and Jazz were my favorites followed by Oriental.
But yes, with Dance and Modeling not having much to them when you could do a lot of the poses after with Choreography (thankfully--I would hate if I'd be stuck changing everytime I'd want a pose), which is probably my least favorite game out of games I don't care for reasons other than that "it's evil"--it's just kind of boring/not very fun. I am looking forward to see if anything changes at the other modeling agency though (For those who didn't know, the last quest of level 4 sends you over to the Sparks' modeling agency as you are graduating from Reyes').
Fashion Design is my second favorite challenge and still resides there, unlike the others which have switched around quite often. The main thing that keeps Fashion Design second is that everyone can make clothes (not a bad thing in any way) and while Fashion Designers can make special outfits, they are specific patterns that you can not modify. You can't do a version of something with longer sleeves or pick a different color than one of the few shown (if any other colors are shown)--it's making what you see and that will be what you get. And sometimes you'll have challenges about Light Pink dye and receive a Gold gown instead.
Regardless, once you make everything, there isn't much else to do unless you decide to make a lot of things for others as well because you can't change the designs around.
And with that, we are brought back around to gardening. Gardening has the most diverse games (though, they can get repeatable when you keep having to replant the same thing) and let's you do several actions--from harvesting plants to having potted versions as decorations. The full extent to if they can be used like food can in rooms is unknown right now, but it's likely. You can also water plants (even random ones around the Island) to make them grow and with the plot you earn as a talent item, you can have some plants growing in your room as well.
I have always wanted to learn to sew--though, mostly things like plushies, however, I would love to learn how to make dresses as well if only because it's incredibly hard to find things I like at this point since modesty has been thrown out the window if you finish being a toddler nowadays :| Unfortunately, my school never had Home Economics and my family doesn't know how, so it's just a far off dream.
The main issue with Gardening, while having the most options of things to do, is that it's incredibly expensive. While there are some things as low as 2-5 (Which is actually still more expensive than everything else which has items at as low as 1), most items do not go higher than 10. Gardening, however, has items that go up to 40. It becomes costly fast and I think is the biggest downside with it.
I do think if there was more to do at the beginning (After all, to start, you can't do much but plant things and watch it sit there after spending all your gems on the expensive plants to begin with), Gardening would be more popular. On the other hand, it's not too surprising that it's one of least either way due to the other options.
I would love to see some of the talents from other games be featured though. For those curious, here is a list of a lot of the different things that Imagine games have been about (I've left out things that are sub categories to stuff either already listed or that we have (IE: "Babyz Fashion" when we already have fashion designer)--I've gone ahead and put what I think of each/what I'd be excited for.
Animal Doctor aka Veterinarian - I can see why this may end up being available, but with so many wild animals, I think it'd be a neat thing to have. I remember one game I had featured you going around and finding and/or rescuing lost animals and then taking care of them and nursing them back to health. You'd be able to keep some and others you'd find new homes. That was always a lot of fun and I'd probably still play it if my sister didn't break the disc...
Gymnast - The main issue here is it'd be very close to dance. Obviously, there would be differences (Headstands, cartwheels, backflips), but the general circumstances and going arounds and even challenges would differ much from dancing. Regardless, I'm always up to adding more poses.
<STRIKE>Sweet 16</STRIKE> Party Planner - ...Okay, this probably won't even come here XD (Not to mention I'm sure the character is supposed to be older than 16 anyway?) Let's change it to party planner (which is also it's own game). They are coming out with party items and parties happen... a lot, so I think it'd be possible to do this. I think the main thing with this would be it'd probably involve a lot of people to complete your challenges. It's hard enough at times right now, but maybe if the game becomes more popular, it could work really well.
Reporter - Once the Gazette is all ready and set, it wouldn't be surprising if this kind of talent actually arrived one day. They could possibly find out news and report it for the Gazette and things which would be neat.
Artist - Artist would probably work very similar to Fashion Designer with canvas' replacing sewing equipment. They could probably create things like exclusive paintings for people's rooms. This is why we need to be able to trade/gift furniture and Jade Mall stuff already.
Zookeeper - Jade Island doesn't have a zoo right now (though one could come up in the future) and I think most stuff with the animals could be solved with Animal Doctor aka Veterinarian. I mean, it's possible that this could be like animal training though.
Salon Stylist - Pretty much anything to do with hair. Maybe equippable hair dyes or wigs or special hair styles only stylists can do. Wigs could work similar to choreography where you can be all "Change Hairstyle -> PICKHAIR" and stuff. Other ideas are something similar to the Fashion Table...but with hair.
Detective - If you know me pretty well, you know I love mysteries and puzzles. I think this could be a lot of fun if executed right. For example, there is a challenge in Gardening that requires you to find out what animal stole/ate these berries. The thing is, there are no paths--it tells you where to go and who to talk to specifically. Something fun and more integrate would've been to have an actual trail you could follow along and then ask people and maybe get some kind of intel. There are challenges where there's little items that will only appear then (IE: A Fashion Design challenge requires you to find buttons along the run way. The images do appear there during this challenge and only during this challenge so it is entirely possible for them to do that) so it wouldn't be impossible to do. However, I wouldn't want it to be like Pierre's missing Frying Pan where it was just random, no clues, and more luck than skill. I think there could be special puzzles/riddles when solving a case (as the version of their games) and maybe they could find hidden areas on the Island (That would hopefully be permanently unlocked for the character after) or the chance of finding special items randomly on the map.
Teacher - Considering the youngest person is Chef Pierre's waitress (who may be the same age as the character you play as), there really aren't any kids running around so this would probably not work.
Soccer/Softball/Hockey/Track/Volley Ball/other sport related Captain - This is another one where I'm not really sure how it'd work. I mean, you could have some sport related poses like throwing a baseball in the air or kicking a soccer ball up, but I don't know what you could actually do. If this did exist (And I mean, there already has been a confirmed Volley Ball team through challenges), I would expect it to be the most interactive as I would see most challenges involving you actually playing a game. Or training exercises.
Boutique Owner - Like Artist and Fashion Designer, but creating various accessories for outfits and your house. Jewelery, Pots, wind chimes, etc. Think of a fancy arts & crafts shop.
Make-up Artist - Similar to hair styling, but with make-up instead. And you'd get to make some of the make-up too so with a little cooking aspects as well.
Doctor - The most I can think of is make medicine and deliver it to sick NPCs.
Movie Star - Would probably end up being very similar to modeling with the different poses and things. Main difference would just be some of the challenges.
Interior Designer - Be able to make special furniture and wallpaper/carpetting. Possibly be able to actually help design in friend's rooms if you have permission to.
Babysitter - Same issue as Teacher.
Wedding Designer - This mostly goes under Fashion Designer, but could possibly go full out (Wedding Parties, wedding cake, etc.). However, there is only one definite couple and another that is unknown if reciprocated so this would essentially be just a fancier version of some of the already around talents.
Rock Star/Singer - Similar to Modeling (A lot of the poses would work) with some kind of singing aspect.
Talking about all these things made me think of how there are supposed to be codes in the games--or at least the upcoming ones for the 3DS which is pretty exciting to unlock exclusive items on here. The French version says it plans to in November so I wonder if the US version will be ready then too. It will most likely be this one as it comes out in November and is for the 3DS. May want to look into picking that up... For now, I'll just try and be patient while I wait for my level 5 dancing challenge. I wish you didn't have to wait 8 days to levelI know why it's like that (so people can't rush through), but considering you should only be getting one free talent challenge a day (2 as your level-up challenge doesn't count), it kind of gets spaced out anyway? I can't help it, I just want to complete it all T~T (and get my level 1 talent items)
...I need to learn not to talk so much.
Suggestions like this are appreciated! This thread is a great resource for lots of detailed leveling info, I'm glad people are reading it and giving feedback!Originally posted by DramaMama17:
You can refresh the page. That way, your challenge book will have more free ones for you to do. I tried it and I saved a lot of gems on the expensive challenges.
