    So they broke the propellers so bad that it may NEVER be fixed! This is a "PROP" sim. Without good propellers, it will be doomed. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

    12. Q: I am an old-time fan of the series and I can no longer manually edit my conf.ini.
    <UL TYPE=SQUARE>A:
    By default, your config is now stored in the steam cloud. This allows you to log into steam on a new machine, and carry over your entire config including keyboard layout etc.
    This also means that manual edits to the config files are automatically overwritten by the server when the game is launched.
    NOTE: editing conf.ini is an UNSUPPORTED FEATURE for advanced users only. ALWAYS back up last working version of the conf.ini.
    To disable cloud config storage, go through these simple steps:
    * Right-click the game in the game list in your steam Library.
    * Go to the Updates tab of the Properties window.
    * Uncheck "Enable steam cloud..."
    * Press Close
    * You can now manually edit your config file!
    NOTE: (once again) some of the settings in the conf.ini are legacy settings left over from when some features were not yet set in stone, so you WILL horribly break the game if you begin to randomly reset random settings to see what they do.[/list]

    Edit note: edit to format for ease of reading
    These two points killed for some time my interest in this game.

    1) We have only propeller airplanes here. Propellers, and their visual dynamics when changing speed, are one of the key features in WWII airplane modelling. I did not buy this game to fly jets. An I do not care about all this epilepsy psychodrama. All what counts is the result for me who should buy. And the result is at the moment dramatic.

    2) If I buy the game I want access. Again Steam and the cloud, no way. I pay, I want it on my machine with me in control and not Steam. I hate having stuff on other servers. You have a workaround but this should be standard.

    Until you solve propellers, no buy. I waited 6 years, I can wait another one. Good luck.

    The best place to ask is 1C forums. Ubi is the publisher
    Cliffs of Dover forums

    Already looked. And loads of people have the same problem. And no answers with actually solutions are coming about. So its rather buggered really.

    If this game was released when it was actually ready... it wouldn't have all of these problems!

    Well, Thats good for some then. There is probably 10 users with faulty installs or games to one single person who can actually play the game.

    So you can't see props at all no matter what? I thought it was just when you have the anti-epilepsy filter on.

    No, you can never see them. Doesn't matter whether the epilepsy filter is on or not.
