I know that with various exercises trying different positions and movements seems to help increase the scores. However, with the Cross-ski I seem to be getting consistently low, in some cases 0-1% !!! Can anyone provide any stance/movement techniques on how to get "in rhythm" with this one. The only other exercise I have troubles with is the side lunges, and even with those I can usually score 80-90%, this cross-ski is acting like I'm not even there!

I still have a hard time getting a consistent score on this one, but I really try to concentrate on the music beat and hit my feet and arms right on cue. If that's not working, I just start increasing the pace slowly and eventually the game thinks I'm back in rhythm. I really wish the game would be more forgiving on this rhythm thing. If I'm doing as many reps as the trainer at roughly the same tempo, I think it should just let it pass, especially when there are things that introduce latency like the sensor itself, TVs, and sound systems.

The latency issue does seem to cause issues sometimes. You might try keeping your legs closer together as you do the scissor to speed them up. You might be getting behind. Sometimes if you're slightly ahead of the trainer it works better and registers.

I have found that your legs don't have to be very far apart in order for Kinect to recognize that you're doing the exercise properly. Also,, I know that for most of the exercises you're supposed to mirror the trainer on the screen. Actually, I've found with the Cross-Ski that your arms or legs can be the exact opposite of the trainer, and it should register. I have never gotten a perfect score either, but you might want to give some of these things a try.

I used to have the same problem, until i figured it out. I found out that in order to be recognized, you need to cross your legs to a certain degree, so that the foot that is stepping forward would land in a point directly in the center in front of you. i.e. when you slide, let your forward foot go in a diagonal direction towards the opposite side, do the same with the upper limbs. Try it, and tell me what happens.
