-For me a real ace in online games doesn't need to fly the best aircraft, he flies the worst or earlier versions of famous or not-so-famous birds and still scores kills.

-He doesn't vulch you with fighter cannons, but yes he can fly his hard-beaten bomber through thick flak and many enemy fighters and still score direct hits with 50kg bombs.

-He doesn't speak too much on the chatter. Neither he whines or insults.

-He has his cockpit always on even if the server allows cockpits off.

-He tweaks all attributes of the engine (throttle, pitch, mixture, supercharger stage, everything possible)

-He knows when to disengage and head home to RTB.

    I agree Prof.Wizard.

To add: A real ace never Stooges. Instead he'll CAP his allies fight and let them gain their much needed experience while surveying the sky for incoming bandits and watching his allies for needed help.

I thought after reading the title we had a new RBJ alias!

I agree with all but #1. I personally fly the Spitfire because it is what I want to fly, but I begrudge no-one who flies the so-called 'uber' planes. A real ace is sensible enough to take any advantage.

Not that I claim to be a real 'ace'

    Wrong-O.

In RL, they flew what they had to, to get the job done.

In this simulation they fly what would be the most challenging or their favorite is ok too. But no they don't just pick the best. That is no challenge and that is NOT the mindset of a champion or ace.

Fly with cockpit on in a cockpit-off server will just get you cursed at.

I was b1tched out recently because of a collision. I had my cockpit on and couldn't see the team-mate under me. He could see me, but somehow it was my fault that we collided.

I know, it has nothing to do with the topic. I just needed to vent this frustration.

Just as noisy as the refridgerator.

    Less practical than the car.
Face it, people who put thier computer specs in thier signature are pretty ****ing wierd.
