Here's an A-36 Invader Dive bomber with hydraulic dive brakes.
And how exactly do the 'hydraulic dive brakes' enhance it's beauty?

Whatever beauty is, hydraulics are only relevant for waterfalls, 'looking like a fighter' is a pale substitute for being one, and looking fast, pointy, and likely to go bang is nothing to do with it. Would you like your wife/girlfriend/significant other to have the subtle curves of a Spitfire, or the butch muscularity and crass utilitarianism of a butcher-bird?

Don't bother to answer this. If you can't see the difference, you are beyond hope.

Jokes aside, it's interesting to see the brakes deployed on that A-36. During the war they were closed shut and rendered inoperative, either by the factory or in the field.

The problem is that the spit only seems beautiful: as soon as you see its two underwing fat and ugly things(radiator/intercooler), then you realize that it would be like the girl on the first pic, but with two horrible unattractive and saggy thing in the place of a firm belly. Let me ask you, what is the point of having a cute face if you have an ugly wart in the middle of it?....
