How do I, during a mission:
- change the type of my plane ?
- take command of a different plane (friendly or enemy) ?
And some help:
If you are bored typing fps SHOW START every time:
I realised we have many new members who are not able to sing the two pages of conf.ini by heart (shame!) so you may find this of use:
In the same directory as the conf.ini (the famous MyDocuments/ etc etc...)
Find the file RCU
Open it with the text editor
at the bottom add following lines of text:
@a aa fps SHOW START
@a ab fps HIDE STOP
aa
save and close
From now on, if during the game you decide to start the fps display, press Shift-TAB, type aa press enter, exit with Shift-TAB. The fps measurement will appear on your screen.
To remove it, repeat the procedure typing ab
Of course, if you have the Console Information Window open, you can type the command there.
The last line aa in the RCU file spares you from all the work, with it every time you start the game you have thefps measurement displayed automaticaly (you can remove it of course if you do not want this).
Since I have this strange feeling that we will spend the next months talking fps, it may prove a little handy ;-)
Happy Flying (ehem, Testing...)
Guys,
I was fooling around with the chat boxes and found out how to get rid of those small black lines on the screen. This was good.
My concern is while I was doing this I turned off my on screen sliders that tell me my throttle, mix radiator positions. Does anyone know how to turn these back on. I can seem to see what info box selection turns these on.
Have you tried "Del", "End" or "Page Down" on the keyboard, they control field of view.Originally posted by raptorman0:
Hello
When I play I get a zoomed in view on the cross hairs, I cannot work out how to get a virtual cockpit view. Can you advise
I am not sure if this is due to my triple screen setup as I get the same issue in ROF but am at least able to zoom out in that.
Thanks
Is this what you mean?
The first part, I don't know, but I'll add it to the first post as an unanswered.Originally posted by Manos1:

The second part... Are you sure you are supposed to press Alt-Tab? This minimizes the game.

One little Question: When you take screenshots where do they go? How do you veiw them? Can't find them anywhere.
The screenshots go in /documents/1cStudios/Il-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover. You'll have a folder for /screenshots/.
That's where you'll find more useful user files and settings like skins folder, conf.ini and so on.

To change switch during the mission from wan plane to another you have to have the options "switch plane", "Switch sides" enabled in the dificulty settings. I'm not sure but i think you also need to have the outside views switched off.
When you want to change the plane just cycle through the planes in outside view(Shift+F2 or Ctrl+F2) until you get to the plane you want to use and click Alt+F1.
If course you can only use the planes that are flyable.
Did you somehow switched to "no cockpit view"? if so try Ctrl+F1.Originally posted by raptorman0:

To zoom in or out, you first have to click F10 then change the zoom by holding right mouse button pressed and move the mouse back and forth. after you are done remember to click F10 again because F10 also turns off the clickable cockpit.
One thing to remember, unlike the original il-2, in CoD, the zoom is different from the field of view. you can change the field of view by clicking "Del" "end", "Page down", or by holding (by default on my system) the mouse button #4 and moving the mouse. to remember, for changing the field of view, you don't have to disable the clickable screen (F10).

AWESOME !!!!! MANY THANKS JAWS!!!
(was that in a page in the manual I missed or, where do you have such information from?)
@yngvef: you are right, my omission, Shift-TAB is the correct command! It was too early in the morning (or too late playing CoD)...
I updated my original post.
