I have a Thrustmaster joystick. What are the best values for sensitivity and dead zone for the elevator and aileron controls? I can't seem to get the right setup for smoot controls. I use this joystick for IL-2 1946 with good results.

Have been doing some work and research and found the official RAF Battle of Britain page:
    http://www.raf.mod.uk/bob1940/stations.html

on it I found the following airfields included in CoD were not part of 11 Group which was responsible for most of the geographic area CoD map covers:
    Brooklands
    Canterbury
    Fainborough
    Feltham
    Gatwick
    Hamble
    Heathrow
    Heston
    Littlestone
    Maidstone
    Oldham
    Portsmouth
    Ramsgate
    Reading
    Redhill
    Rochester
    Shoreham
    White Waltman
    Wilmington
    Worthydown

And the following airfields that were part of 11 Group are not included in CoD:
    Debden
    Detling
    Martlesham
    Rochford
    Stapleford
    West Malling

The question is whether or not this could be taken as a suggestion for future versions, since some of them played an important role during the battle.

Also, in doing this work, found that the Directional Giro is set always at "0" regardless of the runway direction you are about to take off. In fact in some of the missions clearly the compass show a value different to the path you are flying, and I'm not talking about mag deviation, the difference is far too big for that. Could it be possible to get a patch to correct this error?

Btw I prepared an excel table with all the airfields, location in the map, runways headings, type of surface and altitude, but don't know how to attached it to this note, I will be happy to share it with the forum.

please help. i know my way around a pc but i just can not find my steam main game folder for il-2 cod. i've read the forums, carried out the search function and still is doesn't show up so i have no way of dropping in the recent beta patch to try out. its not in program files or all the usual locations. this is really beginning to annoy me so any help other than what is usually posted that i've tried would really help me out. i love the game, although it is so fustrating with lock ups, freezes, crashes and stutters, i think there will be a good sim to come out of it all.

In my case, the Steam folder is in Program Files (x86), and CoD program is in My Documents under the name 1C SoftClub.
Don't ask me why, they just ended there ;-)

The files in the "1C SoftClub" are your personal stuff. Like skins and keybord settings.
These get copied to a simular folder the "Program Files (x86)\Steam\COD" folder.
I don't know if the Cloud sync option have to be checked for this to happend??? But mine is enabled.

We can turn off the AI Voice and the Music (perversely from the Audio Volume Window), but how can we adjust the overall game audio volume? There is a MasterVolume =14 in conf.ini but editing that makes no difference.

    Thanks

Hi. Having multiple problems, perhaps someone can help. I have listed them roughly in order of their importance to me.

    1. There is no option to create new profiles for other players.

    2. My username is the first part of the email address I gave steam. I noticed someone else also asked about this but did not see an answer.

    3. There are some discrepancies between the manual and in-game options. Most notably physical weathering does not exist (visual weathering does), but there are also a few differences in the video options. If necessary, I can list details.

    4. Everything I read about the game said it would have a Sukhoi, but I definitely don't have one.

    5. I can create/change loadouts if I select Options/Plane from the Main Menu, but can't change anything if I select Player Plane in a mission.

    6. I can't damage my own plane using gunner positions. I also can't change my aiming point while firing, even with a power-operated turret (Blenheim).

    7. I read that propellers were removed visually, but they are clearly visible in my game.

If it helps, I got the online version of the game (from the USA through Ebay), and installed through Steam. I got a patch on 18 October. Due to some of the problems, I was wondering if I got some sort of beta version, but Steam had no problems.
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late response, I'll answer what I can:

    1. I think this is to do with the nature of Steam more than anything else. While the statistics and carrers etc would be on the same pilot/profile, you can save other control setups for friends.

    2. I think it's tied to your Steam username, you can set different nicknames in Steam.

    3. This game has undergone massive updates and ongoing development since that manual was written.

    4. Still no answer to this from 1C AFAIK, but it is not there.

    5. It's a bug, it works in multi-player now though...

    6. Not sure about that one...

    7. See number 3.
