    yngvef - Q: How do I edit conf.ini?

A: You have to deactivate "Steam Cloud" in the Steam interface: Open steam, right click the game and choose properties. Then choose the "updates" tab and untick the checkbox for the steam cloud. Now, conf.ini can be edited with for example notepad.
    ----

I've done all this but am still unable to edit it as I get an "acess denied" when I try to save the conf.ini file. I've amended the conf file in the documents folder with no problem but the one in the Steam folder won't allow me to change it.
I've tried disabling the Steam cloud altogether in the settings section of Steam and in the properties of the game in the library all to no avail. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

The one in the Docs folder is the one you need to change anyway.

Yes. Also when I look at pilot/aircraft in options, the box where it should show them is black.

I think this may range outside the Q&A FAQ type thing we have going here, at this point we would need you to post a DXDIAG report and the conf.ini etc., so probably best to make a new thread in the community help section and we'll get this sorted.

Urufu_Shinjiro Thanks for that, I've sorted it out. All my files in that particular folder were write protected which I've now disabled.
