The Police strategy has totally changed in the last 10 years or so. Instead of having the "bobbies on the beat" they now employ cameras.Originally posted by Celeon999:

I heard that London is the worst. Cameras almost everywhere watching every step you make on the street. Is that true ?
How is it in other cities ?
My former english teacher Ben told me that they even entirely replaced policemen on the street with cameras in some spots.
Which means that when you get stabbed by a mugger at night the police can watch this from kilometers away in technicolor.
They surely get the mugger as they can follow him to his home with that cameras if they want but that doesnt help you as you are dead before they arrive.
So, instead of having Policemen patrolling and preventing crime, i.e. making a visible presence, they now have these fancy cameras that record the crime. The net result is that everyone who could have been a potential victim before the use of cameras is more likely to be a victim now because there are not so many policemen patrolling the streets.
So it's okay for the crime to be committed and the poor victim to be distressed, injured or even killed, but hang on lads! We can now catch the criminal because we have him on the camera! So what of the victims rights? I thought the whole idea of policing was to prevent crime - not let it happen and then slap the wrists of the criminal and putting him in an increasing over full prison system.
The whole policing system in this country is absolutely bonkers - and it's my tax money funding all this - I'm certainly not getting value for money.
And, I don't care how much they try to deny it - but the UK has fallen into a Police state.
They are not finished yet Goose !
The British police wants to use camera drones developed for the german army
Make sure to check the video they have there too.
That sounds like they think this would be something goodOnce MD4-200 testing wraps up in September, the country's skies may soon swarm with flying cameras.![]()

Just been looking through some of my emails I received lately and found this interesting story - further extending the talk about police state;
Prime Minister Gordon Brown today denied that Britain is now a police state, despite claims by Magistrates in Bootle that they had been 'overwhelmed by evidence' from the security services in the case of a man convicted of a parking offence.
Doug Ramsbottom, a salesman, said: "I had intended to plead guilty to the offence of being three days late paying my parking fine, but I was shocked when I thought what would be a ten minute hearing turned into a 17 day trial. The prosecution felt obliged to present all of the evidence they had against me."
Prosecution witness DC Dibble Mullet said: "We have a duty to present all of the evidence we have on an individual in order to secure a prosecution, and obviously the more evidence we have the longer it will take. In Mr Ramsbottom's case this involved evidence from the traffic warden and the DNA sample the warden took from the car door handle, related evidence from the national DNA database, and as he had decided not to opt out of the NHS database, Mr Mullet's NHS records."
"We also had to provide evidence of how we had located Mr Mullet on a variety of CCTV cameras and on our national vehicle database which maps all UK vehicle journeys and stores them for at least two years. Even though he was already on his way to the Courthouse, we also had to show how we had located Mullet by his mobile phone signals."
"We think this man is clearly misguided as his Internet history shows that he is always looking at Automobile Association (AA) route maps. We also found references to 'Iran' in his emails, cleverly disguised as a resume, in which we identified 'Iran a recruitment agency' and 'Iran a charity for old people'. These messages were the main reason for asking the magistrate to keep him locked up for 90 days - to allow us time to decode them. That said, we really got him when he made a phone call to complain to his own MP during the trial, admitting the offence and asking 'what the hell was going on'."
Ramsbottom added: "The most worrying thing about all of this is not my civil liberties, but the fact that the satellite location photographs they presented show that I have a slight bald spot that I didn't know about. I am also a little concerned that I am now on 'List 100' and not allowed a library card anymore, and that Tesco know that I will run out of milk at 10:53am tomorrow morning."
A spokesman from MI5, who wished only to be known as "Tony", said: "We have done the British public a great service. This man is clearly potentially dangerous and our analysis shows that it could only be a matter of time before he becomes a Muslim, turns into some sort of terrorist asylum seeker, or does 71 mph on the motorway."
Ramsbottom was fined £15, advised to lower his cholesterol, buy a decent map, and not to park illegally again.
Yea tell me about it.
I was watching The Dam Busters on UK Channel 4 just now. Now some of you have probably seen it, and do you recall that Guy Gibson's dog was called ******? Well that has been totally edited out, and every time the dog is reffered to (ie named) the word "him" is now edited in.
I have no idea why though.
Back then (Filmed in 1954, about events in ?1943?) you must remember that the word ****** meant something entirly different than today. It was not racist then - heck how can calling a DOG ****** be racist at any time anyway??
I heard a story once about a guy who a few years ago named his dog Bollox. Yes I do know how you pronounce that, but spelt like that it is perfictly ok. He did it to prove a point and got taken to court over it. The case was chucked out. Good for him I say. Damn interfering people around here trying to rule everything!!!
People who have to correct EVERYTHING or judge things in the past by today's standards should be taken out and shot in my opinion. I once heard somebody saying that we should never have bommed Germany during World War 2. Don't get me wrong, the German civilans should NEVER have been bommed IMHO and we should have stuck to pure military targets, but we were at war with Germany, and Germany DID bomb various UK cities early in the war, and do you hear US complaining?

People who think that they can tell me what to think and say better think again cos every time they tell me to say this or think that, I usually do exactly what they are telling me NOT to do!!!
ok I am getting narked with myself now lol! I am gonna kill something in Alpha Black Zero
PS admins, I am not trying to be racist or anything with the so called "N" word so don't get mad at me for using it please. I am just making my point by using it. Personally speaking I don't even seee it as a racist word, and therefore I do not see what all the fuss with it is about but that's just me.
