While checking up on the news around the UK and the world I found this rather interesting item. I firmly believe that the UK has finally gone too far...

I remember last year a town tried to make the use of the "N" word iligeal. Yes Ilegeal. Thank god it failed.

Madness! Don't you agree though that in the UK at least, 'private' number plates were things only displayed on the most prestigious of vehicles, but these days, they are everywhere. I think you can pick up a private plate with 3 letters and a couple of numbers for about £400. That's OK if you can find one for sale that matches your intiials (if you want one that is!)
Reminds me of an old Viz annual I have somewhere, in their tips pages:
"Why pay a fortune for a number plate that matches your name or initials! Me, I've just changed my name by deed poll to match my number plate - much cheaper!
Yours, CR03 OXG, Nottingham.

You are right in what you are saying RJ.
My plate is personalised (N3 NYG) and cost me £250 from the DVLA, and that was 4 years ago. It's personal to me and only people close to me know what the NYG stands for.
But to ban the SN07 registration is crazy, if you ask me unless someone is going to break the law and turn the 7 into something resembling a T, people are not going easily notice that the SN07 is going to mean "snot" when they see the plate on the roads.
Another case of political correctness gone too far

"In this case, the SN07 marks would have been too similar to the word 'snot' and, as that could possibly offend some buyers, they were replaced with new TN07 registrations."
Sick. I am going to complain. The photo shows a white car which offends me a firefighter. All vehicles should be fire engine red. Also TN07 looks a little like "Tnot" which I hate because my father used to tease me and call me a "tnot".

Dont say that too loud....Maybe those anti-terror camera's over there on your island have microphones now...
I heard that London is the worst. Cameras almost everywhere watching every step you make on the street. Is that true ?
How is it in other cities ?
My former english teacher Ben told me that they even entirely replaced policemen on the street with cameras in some spots.
Which means that when you get stabbed by a mugger at night the police can watch this from kilometers away in technicolor.
They surely get the mugger as they can follow him to his home with that cameras if they want but that doesnt help you as you are dead before they arrive.
