Dumbbell Curls: Stand so you're not facing the Kinect head on. Instead, face a spot on the wall about 3 feet off-centre (about 30 degrees). Also, make sure your legs are the specified distance apart.

Dumbbell Rows: Your upper body should not be parallel to the floor but angled up about 30-45 degrees. Timing is crucial, particularly at the top of the lift. Make sure the dumbbells move out and away from your body as you lift. I've hit as high as 91% this way.
