Returned from Borders earlier today, where in the reduced price section were two great books.

The Encyclopedia of Aircraft of WWII (big red book)

"" "" "" Modern Military Aircraft (big blue book)

They were $19.99 each. Both books are HUGE (both with over 500 pages and over 1,500 photos and artwork) and from what I have seen are very well written. Just a heads up for those looking for some very nice, comprehensive reference matrial. The major models have several (8-10) large pages devoted to them (FW-190, Spitfire, F-15, Mig 29, etc.). Also, they are 2004 books which is nice for the Modern Military book as it is up to date and from what I have read takes good advantage of this fact.

Anyway, if you live near a Borders, definitely look for these two books. I have been looking for something like this for awhile, and am very pleased from what I have seen.

Zneg, they are not useful for modelling. They consist mainly of text about the different versions, production, operators etc. There are alot of photos and such but not many drawings/artwork. What there is of it is nice though.

Anyway, I still recommend you check them out, they are huge books with alot of info. Very comprehensive as many many aircraft are covered and it is well written.

Yep I saw that big book about a month ago, more expensive then. It's good to have such a comprehensive work about so many planes all in one book. Thanks for the heads up on the price.
