I will travel to this city in the near future and was wondering if some of you know if it has a nice airplane museum.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

"Once (I think it was 31st aug. 1940), I was in a fight with four Hurricanes over Dover.
I was back over the channel when I saw another Hurricane coming from Calais, trailing white smoke, obviously in a bad way.
I flew up alongside him and escorted him all the way to England and waved goodbye.
A few weeks later the same thing happened to me.
That would never have happened in Russia - never". (Erich Rudorffer - 109 pilot)

There is no museum in the city itself.
But just an 1-hour-drive away is the aircraft museum of Villingen-Schwenningen. Nearby the museum are also a clock manufacturing museum and a brewery.

Go visit the Mercedes-Benz museum in Bad Canstatt.
Beside legendary cars they have few really nice aircraft DB engines engines, including a big DB603 <div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Better bring some geld with you, if its the same one I went to its NOT free. But they had some good stuff; WW2 Luftwaffe, modern jets and an Imax type theater and all kinds of real innntersting stuff.

    Before visiting http://www.flugplatz-schwenningen.de/museum.html
you should clarify if the damages caused by a thunderstrom back
in June are already repaired (see their site). Its a "small" open
air museum with two or three halls.

Better choice in my opinion is one of those http://www.technik-museum.de/
They are no pure a/c museums but worth to visit them.
Distance Stuttgart - Sinsheim about 90km, means a one hour drive if
    no traffic jam ;-)
