Those people at those outposts never slept a day in their life. What could have been done is that there is 1 lookout that alerts the rest of the outpost ppl if he see's someone. So if you kill that 1 lookout then u can pass through the outpost undetected. But no, EVERY outpost has people that will never sleep. For some reason, the safehouses are occupied by guards that ALWAYS stay outside and are awake, nobody is EVER inside a safehouse. Kill everyone at an outpost, by the time you drive to the next outpost all those people you just killed come back to life. Even DOOM (released in 1993) remembered which enemies you killed so they don't spawn back, this is INEXCUSABLE.
Far cry 2 had so much potential, so many different things could have been done to make this game 10x better but it had to be complete ****!
in my own words...
"mario bros. 3 had more variety"
i honestly feel UBI concentrated on graphics and scenery rather then gameplay... any competent dev, and even player would play 10 mins of this game and realize it's an 'uber fail'... as in it fails on a level no other game i have ever played (i've been a gamer since nintendo, it's not as far back as gaming goes, but that's a loooooong time ago, so, i'd really hate to count that many games, honestly) has done so so miserably
people WILL remember Far Cry 2, but usually people remember games for their gameplay, or originality, or even storyline... unfortunately, no one will remember FC2 for these reasons... it will be remembered for just how bad it is, mark my words. wait until someone combines the graphics with actual gameplay in another game, i bet then all the FC2 'fanboys' won't be so quick to defend it's integrity.
I dont know what youre talking about but the avarage score for Farcry is 86. Plus it has already won many awards. You and a small group of player's will be the only ones remembering it for it's "failure".Originally posted by slippsycho:

that's just what i was talking about this post, and another part of a diffrent post.... the other post stating roughly "i'll never trust any site to review a game by UBI, somehow it managed to have high ratings"
like i said, mark my words, when some other game comes that actually has SP gameplay value, with the graphics of this game, all the fanboys (that would be you in this case) will stop blindly praising FC2.
sorry but you're a fanboy, no diffrent then all the others that just stay loyal to a brand or series no matter what they do, or how they drop the ball.. this game is far from amazing, and just because this game was ranked high among other companies means nothing... first of all, they are paid to offer reviews... and it's just as easy to bribe them, as it is to pay them to give honest reviews (i'm not saying that's what happened, it's just one of the many possibilities)
the lack of support is also a major destroyer in this game, you know i'm glad you enjoyed the game, but there are countless numbers of us, who haven't due to a wide array of actual problems (not just i dislike the game because of XXX), often game breaking problems... then people like you decide to jump in and try to make us look like fools because we're not brown-nosing UBI over 'the miraculous game they've created' when in fact they failed miserably.
here's (SOME) of my points:
there's 0 support for those with problems (there are even cases of people being told they're 'not playing right' and automated responses [no, not when you first email them either]
multiplayer is bugged to hell and still has consistent problems no only with the gameplay, BUT the servers as well
patches and fixes are constantly promised, and then show far later then they were said to of been implemented
SP is a joke, completely monotonous
UBI does nothing against hackers, and if we even try to warn other players about known hackers, our posts are edited because 'no naming no shaming' (i come from a long line of FPS, and this is the SINGLE first time i've not had the ability to warn fellow legit players of known hackers)
the game is more focused on graphics and scenery above gameplay, a ****-poor decision if you ask me
not to mention countless game-breaking bugs.
so go ahead, and defend the game all you like, i gaurentee when the 'next fad' rolls around, you'll wonder why you ever even bothered...
oh yeah, who gives a damn about critics anyways? look at the user ratings... the users (players) are all that really matters... the users don't paint such a pretty picture, now do they?
I actually did see a merc lying on the ground sleeping a couple of times. besides, what other game features npc's takin a pee?
I guess i'm one of those "fanboys' although i'd be the first to admit that FC2 is far from perfect.
Yes, many aspects of the SP game weren't fleshed out, and there are bugs that prevent, apparently, some peeps from finishing the game, as well as various MP frustrations. No doubt, like every other game, it was rushed out the door to meet some marketing deadline. In retrospect, i bet Ubi wishes it hadn't tried to release the PC, XBOX and PS-3 versions simultainiously. To me, that's just begging for trouble.
As to the re-spawning issue so many folks complain about, the game works better when you play with a stealthy approach. In fact, even without a prone option, FC2 still works better than FC1 for stealth, imho.
I've been playing FC1 again, and the damn mercs can still see me virtually instantly, unless im prone under a bush.Trying to prgress by crawling is just too slow. Besides, in FC1 you cannot opt to do your work at night the way you can in FC2.
I love both games, but if I had to choose only 1 to play, i'd choose FC2 in a heartbeat.

Wow....,Uhm...... yeah.... uuuuuh.... nevermind.
If they work in shifts then why do I ALWAYS see every guard at an outpost wide awake? If I were to watch an outpost or safehouse for 3 days then I would still see the SAME people standing there. Also fires go on by themselves without anyone doing anything. And I'm fine with fires going on by themselves, but I'm not ok with every guard knowing it's you, they don't even need to verify that you might be a part of their faction first. Also, I never see factions fighting each other except in the beginning of the game. I thought a war was going on, the 2 factions must've allied each other to fight ONLY you and your buddies. Even in the first far cry mutant monkeys and human enemies attacked each other! But in this game if you pass an outpost and have a jeep follow you I can't find a single outpost that will attack the jeep following me. Stealth? If you SHOOT a silenced gun in the air near an enemy they will KNOW EXACTLY where you are and start shooting!Originally posted by zeeEVIL1:
Guards work in shifts to prevent them from being tired.
Read what I think about this game... then maybe you'll realize how flawed it is.
