A few years ago Rudolf Hess told people he was about to tell his life story, it would bring massive revelations about WW2 and shock the world...The day before he was due to give the interview he mysteriously 'commited suicide'.
He was kept imprisoned since the war by the UK/US until his death. Here is a quote about his imprisonment...
-------
Built to hold 600 criminals, Spandau by that stage was home to just one man: Rudolph Hess. His last two remaining companions, Albert Speer and Baldur von Schirach, had been released in 1966, when Hess was already 72-years-old. Formerly the Deputy Fuhrer and one of Hitler's oldest and most respected companions, he had been amongst the most powerful men in Germany, responsible for the organization and structure of the entire Nazi Party. Now he was alone, guarded on a monthly rotation (at a cost then estimated to be â£100,000 per annum) by troops from America, Britain, France and - horror upon horror - the Soviet Union. He had been condemned to imprisonment for the rest of his natural life and, to the distaste of the civilized world, he was destined to serve the sentence in full. If his mind hadn't been unstable before, then the 21 years he spent in solitary confinement prior to his eventual suicide in 1987 would surely have tipped him over the edge.
-------
Anyway, has anyone any idea what he was going to tell which made it so explosive that someone would want to kill him?
I thought it might be about secret dealings/corespondance between CHurchill and Hitler, or maybe he was totured by the UK and the government didnt wan the story to come out.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas.![]()
not so sure about the last point. The stuff on the Malayan emergency hasn't been realeased yet.Originally posted by Pirschjaeger:
We'll never know, but I expect long after w are history, our future generations will know. Dirty dealings have a way of surfacing after some time, conveniently after some time.

As cheezy as this sounds theres been a lot of talk over the years about the German bases in Antartica. They Germans did explore it before the war and supposedly a couple ships dissappeared there to hide out. If this were true that would be quite a revelation.
Or perhaps he was going to reveal the location of some Nazi gold. A lot has still gone unaccounted for 60 years on?
Spear of Longinus maybe? Sounds wacky but its possible. New information on any of those things would be quite shock to the world.
Thats still not proven and I doubt there is anything that Hess could say to upset the establishment, he would have said it as his trial, lets not forget he was freinds with British aristocracy and the King was supposadly a Nazi sympathiser. What worst could there be?Originally posted by Xiolablu3:
Ahh that is along the lines of what I thought, thankyou.
We all know the British establishment is capable of murder after the Princess Diana thing.
Poor old Hess, I have seen many films of him from the 1930's, he really doesnt look all there, I'm sure it wasnt hard to keep him quiet.
All the relevent politicians during WW2 were dead by 1987, all the current cabinet were either too young to fight in the war or were minor politicians at the time.
I bet there was more worry when former KGB and USSR state records were released in the 90's regarding UK politicians and there communist party hsitory from the 30's to the 60's.
My brother bought me a book on the Nazi interogations at Nuremburg.
theres some pretty strange exchanges between Goering and Hess. With basically Goering staggered that Hess cant remember who he is, despite repeated questioning. In addition Hess claimed he couldnt remember participating in any actions in his official capacity.
this went on for a while. either very sneaky, or genuinely disturbed. didnt prevent a conviction though. Goering got quite frustrated!
